Hauer
Some captures of my departure from Windhoek, Namibia with the intention of flying to Cape Town, South Africa. Unfortunately the flight needed to be cut short due to other unexpected activities requiring my attention. Anyway I thought I'd post it partially so as to show some rugged Namibian landscape and indicate an observation... A question for the Orbx Team - what is the white area encountered whilst flying between the waypoints UTSAL and DUTPU as per the last two images? I was approximately 18 minutes into the flight departing from FYWH. Having resided in Namibia myself, I don't recall having ever seen salt pans in that particular area (if that is what it is supposed to depict). The Hardap Dam near Mariental shows as normal. Thanks for looking into it... Herman To be continued...

Eberhard Haberkorn
Lovely shots. You are correct with your observation regarding those white areas. Wouldn't know what those are.
Stillwater
The perfect livery for a nice flight, err, start. These white spots look like the depiction of salt pans, but I don´t know if there are some? PS: I think I can see them in Plan-G, coordinates S23°54´ E17°52´, just northeast of Kalkrand. And you can spot them on Google Earth, southeast of Uhlenhorst. I will not pretend knowing every geological aspect of Namibia. Still wondering what it is... Herman

Still wondering what the geological composition is. Must admit that I never really deviated from that longgg 250km stretch of road between Windhoek and Mariental! Unfortunately, not too many to choose from as most African Airlines have gone bust of the years. Sad! Herman

There must have been some people from Hamburg founding all these places, maybe @Fischkopp knows better...
Eberhard Haberkorn
Namibia used to be a German colony in the beginning of the 1900s. Also a lot of missionaries from the Rhenish Mission came to South West Africa as it was called. German is still widely spoken there.
