Well, wanted to do a short flight with the Spitfire, nice weather, Goodwood -> Popham, some fun in the air, no big deal.

Sorry Goose, but it´s time to buzz the tower

Time to drop down and scare the rich folk on the Golf course

Climbing out heading for Popham

Remembered that I don´t know how much fuel I took with me. Well, top tank empty, bottom tank... well, 5 Gallons, oops...

Low power heading back to Goodwood, was about a third of the distance between them and Goodwood is easier to land at with all those runways

Looking good, coming in, engine still turning

Before climbing out, I checked, could have stayed in the air some more... well, seconds... 1 Gallon left in the lower tank

Remember, allways check your fuel before leaving boldly.

Excellent set and a disaster averted.

Very neat pix.

Question: Not having the Spit myself, what's with the two color underside of the wings ?

A good question. It was apparently used from 1938 to June 1940 for recognition purposes so they were not mistaken for enemy aircraft.
