The Two Towers

Stillwater

Recommended Posts

Another tour in my home territory, covering sights that took me years to collect in RL... From Bremerhaven-Luneort I crossed Nordholz...

... and Cuxhaven.

We were regularly having field hockey matches versus Schwarz-Weiss Cuxhaven in my youth. Their slogan was "Alte Liebe, Kugelbake, hej hej!". But here the famous Kugelbake is missing - ships would get grounded here!

Westwards into the Weser mouth...

... and to tower #1: Lighthouse Weser.

Tower #2: Lighthouse Rote Sand.

A short hop from there up to Helgoland...

... where we clearly miss the Lange Anna rock.

Eastwards to the gigantic beach of St.-Peter-Ording...

... and to the next famous lighthouse around: Westerheversand. Surprising they use it in the advertisements for Jever beer: It is in a different state, some 5 h of driving distance from the Jever brewery...

Northbound ...

... to Pellworm, ...

... Föhr ...

... and finally Sylt.

Let´s see if we find a cheap place to dine & sleep.

Super series of shots Gerold.

I took my first GEN flight from Bremerhaven but last night I took off from Jade Weser across the Jade Bight to Bremerhaven and up the coast to Nordholz where I landed as tiredness set in.:)

You see I am going to fly along the coast to Heringsdorf having started island hopping at Borkum last week.:D

The final funny thing is that my plane last night was the Skymaster D-ICEC.

I am very upset as the salesman said it was the only one around in those colours:angry:

Epic shots, great scenery and one of my favourite planes.

Thanks, LT. To me the 337 is always a good choice for sightseeing.

Thanks, mate. Obviously this plane fits to the region, as it was also recommended to @VH-KDK by his rental plane office in Nordholz (see evidence in his post above).

Thanks @BradB and @PDX Flyer. Please be assured I will not end my GEN tour in Sylt... just too expensive up there .

I LOVE these tour shots!  The one with the Jever lighthouse was terrific.  I've been to Jever, it was really nice.  I went to the "Beer Academy" and got a few awards.  Still have them.  What a great country!

That sounds like an interesting academy with sustainable content.

It was a great little bar Gerold.  I remember if you drank so many beers over a course of a week or so you'd get a wooden plaque with a medallion on it.  The Jever Beer Acedemy, where you could sample all kinds of excellent German beers.
