Scott Harmes
My first exploratory flight almost ended in disaster. I'm just glad I'm still here. Cheers,

daladna
mountains/deep valley is not normal at all for flight, air there so unstable, what you need very powerful and stable engine for do that, but even for turbojet is not very good idea to fly there cool shots any way

Scott Harmes
Thanks all for the comments. I am starting to think that the C-47 just wasn't built for the mountains of Colorado. I took off from Aspen the other day and went up and down several valleys, with more tight turns like this one at the dead ends, because I just didn't have the power to get over the top. Oh well. That's the beauty of flight simming; it really doesn't matter. 5 hours ago, VH-KDK said: Looks like the skateboard park down the road from where I live. Lower the u/c. Problem solved Bloody right Andy, some folks just don't know how to fly! Funny you say that Martyn, dropping the gear was my first thought when I started dropping/sliding towards the mountain side. I thought maybe I can just bounce off the wall. Instead I just dropped some flaps for a bit more lift. I tell you what, I had full right rudder and was pulling all the way back and right on the stick. It did feel a bit like I was in a half pipe.
