You mean this is not the normal way to fly?

Bloody right Andy, some folks just don't know how to fly!

Thanks all for the comments.

I am starting to think that the C-47 just wasn't built for the mountains of Colorado.  I took off from Aspen the other day and went up and down several valleys, with more tight turns like this one at the dead ends, because I just didn't have the power to get over the top.  Oh well.  That's the beauty of flight simming; it really doesn't matter.

Funny you say that Martyn, dropping the gear was my first thought when I started dropping/sliding towards the mountain side.  I thought maybe I can just bounce off the wall.   Instead I just dropped some flaps for a bit more lift.  I tell you what, I had full right rudder and was pulling all the way back and right on the stick.  It did feel a bit like I was in a half pipe.

Cheers,
