VH-KDK Posted January 3, 2016 Share Posted January 3, 2016 This flight from Tonga to Pago Pago took 2 days and 1 1/2 tries! 1. It started off well from Fua'amotu 2. Even had time to admire the beautiful scenery on the way to FL320. 3. You don't see snow covered mountains often in this part of the world. 4. Then the trouble started. The clouds gave way to beautiful clear skies. Approaching NSTU later in the flight the ILS did not work and made a hair raising landing. 5. Luckily for me I had saved the flight at the point of descent so today I was able to try again. 6. All went well today although I only remembered to drop the wheels fairly late. 7. 8. 9. 10. Happy with the landing but strange looking tyre smoke! 11. 12. The first landing yesterday in clear skies. A different angle as I was way to low.
