michael63
Good luck on your journey to aviation excellence. I did 6 written exams and 6 practical exams in 8 months 25 years ago. That brought me up to CFII and MEI. Was only possible on full time and in the climate of Phoenix Arizona.

olderndirt
Fifty one years ago, a Commercial Pilot rating in the US required a single exam and could be self taught. Two hundred hours minimum flight time with a specified amount of dual involving commercial flight check procedures. No instrument rating nor complex aircraft/taildragger requirements - life was simpler then .

Sometimes I just don't know when to keep my mouth (fingers on keyboard) under control!!! And, it is usually on a Friday night after a few ales - enough said! I apologise Tim (sincerely). So an Update... I passed my module two exams a couple of months back and am working towards my finals now; hopefully done by September and then start on my CPL. I hope to have a commercial license by the end of the year.
