  1. Thanks, and “Banana Benders” What is a Banana Bender?
  2. Thank you Gumby, very kind words. I’d love to work some of that pine, it’s great for carving. And the smell is terrific, it’s the shop equivalent of baking bread
  3. Me too! I'd love to see some Xbox screenshots!
  4. Yikes! That will do it, good heavens, it's fortunate no one got hurt Pete! I think know what you mean, I have a feeling and could be wrong but I think people either innately know how to use tools or they don't. When I was a kid I was forever taking things apart and putting them back together with improvements. Mind though that I know ZERO, ZIP, NADA, about finance, medical stuff, insurance, and a lot more. I do however love to study physics, astrophysics, and especially quantum physics as a hobby. But the white collar work, no clue. My wife is a whiz at insurance, I look at the forms and it zooms right over my head, but to her it's a second language.
  5. Thanks Pete. I'll wait on Iain. Yes, it was a hot air balloon, since then I've made dozens and given most away as gifts. I've been turning pens on the lathe, bowls, candlesticks, chess pieces, and all kinds of other stuff. Making tables, fully articulated construction toys, shop jigs, porch swings, wooden tools, you name it. And I just discovered a lumber yard that sells the most exquisite and exotic woods. Woods I've been wanting to use since I was a teenager.
  6. Gosh Pete, that's humbling. I don't know what to say, I appreciate your kind words. I see the doc for the left eye on Tuesday and set up a surgery date then I reckon. I was wondering if I can post some of my woodworking photos in the lounge area? Would that be over the top? Cheers, Jack
  7. Thanks Landon, I was running late and he was just sitting there. I heard someone on the radio to hold up, no idea why
  8. Thanks Landon! I tried to fly that 37 under one but there’s no way.
  9. Ratchet was trying to tell me to find the nearest airport with the best kitty treats
  10. Thanks Landon. I feel humbled by the reception, the people here are some of the nicest I've ever met.
  11. So true! I may be wrong but it seems like they change the programming rules weekly.
  12. I think I know the reason but am loathe to say. The world has moved on John.
  13. I follow PMDG's forum, they seem to be having problems not of their own doing but Asobo's. I don't know the status of A2A but it appears that Asobo changes the programming rules so it's difficult for them to program what they need programmed. Hence my statement. I honestly don't want this to denigrate into a closed topic. I like the look of MSFS, I love how Orbx incorporated their scenery into it, I just don't like default planes. With me being a former real-world mechanic and pilot I need fidelity in aircraft. It's always been about the planes with me. Sorry of I come across so gruff, things are not going well today.
  14. Nothing on Earth will ever make me want to lay our the $ till those two companies have all their planes working in MSFS. I want to flow low and slow in an A2A Bonanza.
  15. Three random "Bo" shots in my little Orbx universe. They're not MSFS quality which is why I've not been posting but what the heck, I'm bored to tears since the eye surgery has tied my hands.
  16. Thanks John. Not to be too pedantic but it looks like not much has changed from when I was an alpha tester. I still see melted buildings and I'm sure the Orbx stuff takes care of this nonsense. But to address this video. I don't know if I want to pay for an Xbox controller to control views. I like my Razer keyboard and I wish they had Chaseplane on board. And you know the drill, until PMDG and A2A are on board it's a moot point. I would LOVE to have all the Orbx stuff in it but without the planes I want, not what MS wants I can't spend the dough. I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery than seeing my planes in MSFS. So it's P3D as the planes are more important than the eye candy. Sorry.
  17. The first and only pet I have ever "owned." His name is Ratchet and he's a loving cat. We got him 10 months ago from a friend who bought a house near us, he was abandoned by the previous owner. I call him my "woodle" because he makes a woodling sound when he purrs. He talks a lot and is the most affectionate animal I've ever seen. He'll sit in our laps all day, he'll demand you scratch his head till he's practically bald, and he follows us around like Mary's little lamb. But he makes me laugh when he plays with the twine I cut, I call him "Dopey Cat." And now I know, I mean I really understand how people would say if someone hurt their pet they'd kill them. I never understood that mindset, now I do. He cracks me up but we love him a lot.
  18. I have a PS4 and play several games but I'm curious how one can fly with a controller.
  19. Absolutely delightful. I wonder what it's like to actually live there. I reckon you have to have a lot of coin!
