  1. You may be right Steve. I've only been doing this for 42 years and I guess I'm just not doing it right. Thanks for the hint.
  2. Just my humble opinion. As I said there is no "Good" or "Bad" here. Maybe if you try a few of the more difficult RNAV approaches you'll see what I mean.
  3. It seems to me that the decision to "fly" either MSFS or P3D depends on whether one wants to "fly" based on RL aircraft, practices, and procedures or "fly" primarily for the eye-candy. To me it seems that it's P3D for the former and MSFS for the latter. Or, better yet, just use both. There's no "good' or "bad" in this decision but, rather, it's just a matter of personal choice.
  4. Thanks Rodger. I know. Ira faced many demons. Some a long time before the war. I wish his nephew Don was here to explain it all.
  5. Here I sit. An old man thinking about the days gone by. And one of those thoughts is about a guy named Ira Hayes. For those who may not know who he was, he was one of the Marines in the iconic WWII photo of the flag rasing on Iwo Jima. I worked with his nephew for many years and learned so much about his life and death. R.I.P. Ira. You will never be forgotten. At least by me.........
  6. There is no scenery for me to enjoy where I live (Central Florida). The best I can do is my swimming pool.
  7. Doesn't sound like anything I'd be interested in............Doug
  8. I mainly fly FSX with some P3D occasionally thrown in. The thing I like best about both of these sims is that everything works (unlike a more recent product from Microsoft).
  9. Just another reason for me to stick to FSX/P3D.............
  10. A whole generation of old men wept too.
  11. As I sit here, I remember so many things about my days spent in San Francisco. Does anyone else remember...... Lunch at The Iron Horse on Maiden Lane. Green beer at Lefty O'Doul's on St. Patricks Day. Dinner on the terrance of the Alta Mira Hotel in Sausalito watching the lights come on in The City. Carol Doda at the Condor Club. Finocchio's. Kerry's Lounge And Restaurant. Those were the days. And I was there. And I remember the all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6zKxnYzJjQ
  12. Exactly so Rodger. I have 200+ add-on airplanes and 300+ GB of add-on scenery for FSX. The older I get, the more I miss it.....🙂 .
  13. Try it again. You'll like it again......
  14. Slow day here today. So I decided to reinstall FSX. And FlyTampa Kai Tak. And the PMDG 737. Now I'm back to flying the Rwy13 IGS. Thank God for the oldies. I think I've gone to FS heaven......Doug
  15. Yesterday I was at the grocery store buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for my loyal pet, Necco, the Wonder Dog, which weighs 191 lbs. I was in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had, an elephant? So because I'm retired and have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog. I was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn't start again because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your jacket pockets with Purina Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care, because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I was there because I stopped to pee on a fire hydrant and a car hit me.
  16. So, does this mean I could fly and **** at the same time?
  17. It's not natural evolution. It's abandoning your long-time customers.
  18. Not true Rodger. I applied to a couple of clubs, but after reviewing my Olympics Trials performances they felt it wouldn't be fair to the other members who would have to compete against me in club events. I was turned down by both clubs.
  19. A couple on an African Safari witnessed a small antelope being chased down by a cheetah. While the kill was about to happen before their eyes, the husband casually remarked, “I’ll bet the antelope gets away.” The wife answered, “If that antelope survives this one, I’ll give you sex every day for the rest of your life.” The deadly chase was recorded...... https://www.youtube.com/embed/DYDIwOnXNc8?rel=0 .
