I noticed is ,that it seems to automatically write an Orbx backup ini.file in custom scenery, so now I have 2 ini files anytime I change something.why is this....could you shine a light on this? thank you

    Hello,

I would imagine that the backup is there for the usual purpose of a backup,

to allow the restoration of the previous working file if anything goes wrong.

Hello - I just learned from various posts that TEGB Central needs to be below TEGB South.

    Hello,

I don't believe that this is the case but I am ready to be corrected.

As I do not recognise many of the added scenery items at the bottom of

your ini file, I will not advise you where to move anything.

London Landmarks must be above TEGB South or they will not be seen.

  2. Hello,

if you followed my advice and disabled all your addons, refreshed your configuration files and using a default aircraft at default scenery the problem remains,

it has nothing to do with anyone's addons and is probably an error in your installation of P3D.

As written by Arthur Conan Doyle, "when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

  3. Hello,

may I suggest that you first rename your scenery.cfg file and let P3D build another default one.

Start the simulator and see if the problem is still there.

If so, it has nothing to do with anyone's addon scenery.

Then try renaming the Prepar3D.cfg file and do the same.

When I look at my atlas Bilbao is there but there's no such place as Asturias.  Has Orbx dreamed this one up I wonder?

    Hello John,

I read that it was the Visigoths who dreamed up Asturias in 718 AD, some time before Orbx was founded.

In those days, it was apparently a kingdom.

It's not so much a place as a province these days.

  5. FTX Central is the Orbx product installer and product management tool.

    It looks like this:

    1.jpg

It cannot be used to install the latest Orbx products.

There is a new Orbx product installer and product management tool.

It is not named FTX Central.

    It is named Orbx Central.

You need this new utility, Orbx Central, to install the latest products.

    It looks like this:

    3.jpg

There is a download link on every page of the Orbx Direct website for Orbx Central.

You can find the Orbx Direct website here:  https://orbxdirect.com/

The download links look like this:

(you will not see the yellow arrow or highlighting at the Orbx Direct site)

Orbx Central includes a very useful User Guide which you can also read here:  https://orbx.to/central-guide

Orbx Central has its own Support Forumhttps://orbxsystems.com/forum/forum/283-orbx-central-support-forum/

  6. I have understood that the updates are all available already in Orbx Central,

unless you actually mean FTX Central.

In any case, unless you update the airports, either with the files that Graham provided or using Orbx Central,

you will see neither the control panel addition nor the corrections.

  7. Hello,

whenever an Orbx X Plane 11 product requires the additional installation of  the Orbx X Plane 11 Libraries, this banner is to be seen

    on the Orbx Product page.

    1.jpg

Failure to do this will result in this message in the X Plane 11 log:

    Quote

0:00:26.693 E/SYS: | The following scenery package has a problem and will therefore not be loaded:
    0:00:26.693 E/SYS: | Custom Scenery/Orbx_X_ICAO_Airport name/
0:00:26.693 E/SYS: | It requires an additional library scenery package that is not installed, or it is missing some of its files.
    0:00:26.693 E/SYS: | http://lookup.x-plane.com/_lookup_11_/missing_custom_scenery.html
    0:00:26.693 E/SYS: | (io_dsf.cpp:744)

which will also be displayed on the X Plane 11 screen, one for each of the installed airports, like this:

    Screen Shot 2019-07-17 at 9.35.17 PM.png

To install the X Plane 11 Libraries, please log on to Orbx Direct, go to the freeware page and add the Orbx X Plane 11 Libraries to your account.

Then they can be installed with FTX Central.

(Clicking on the Orbx X Plane 11 Libraries banner on the airport Orbx Direct product page takes you to the Orbx X Plane 11 Libraries page)

Note: If the libraries are already installed and this error message is seen after the installation of a new Orbx X Plane 11 product, the

Orbx X Plane 11 Libraries are in need of an update and there will be an update notification in FTX Central.
