Hello,
I would imagine that the backup is there for the usual purpose of a backup,
to allow the restoration of the previous working file if anything goes wrong.

As I do not recognise many of the added scenery items at the bottom of
your ini file, I will not advise you where to move anything.
London Landmarks must be above TEGB South or they will not be seen.

if you followed my advice and disabled all your addons, refreshed your configuration files and using a default aircraft at default scenery the problem remains,
it has nothing to do with anyone's addons and is probably an error in your installation of P3D.

While it does not solve your probem, it does seem to rule out any of your Orbx products
and any other addons that you might have installed.
Have you tried using a default aircraft in default scenery?

may I suggest that you first rename your scenery.cfg file and let P3D build another default one.
Start the simulator and see if the problem is still there.
If so, it has nothing to do with anyone's addon scenery.
Then try renaming the Prepar3D.cfg file and do the same.

In those days, it was apparently a kingdom.

I have understood that the updates are all available already in Orbx Central,
unless you actually mean FTX Central.
In any case, unless you update the airports, either with the files that Graham provided or using Orbx Central,
you will see neither the control panel addition nor the corrections.

If you do not see a compatibility setting for Australia v2 in the control panel, then the update
has not been applied.

what you did is what the Australia v2 control panel does, if it is installed and configured of course.
Of course, there is no mention yet of which version of Australia, or even if there is one at all.

whenever an Orbx X Plane 11 product requires the additional installation of the Orbx X Plane 11 Libraries, this banner is to be seen
on the Orbx Product page.
Failure to do this will result in this message in the X Plane 11 log:

Vector has changed the level of the river but not the lake or dock.
I have added it to the very long list of required fixes.
