  1. Hello,

this topic pertains to TrueEarth GB South, Central and North installations and True Earth HD products.

To install these products successfully, there are prerequisites.

    1. There must be enough disk free space on both the installation disk, by default, the C drive and the destination disk.

The location used by the installer can be changed, on the Orbx Central\Settings\Downloader page.

The location of destination disk will be dependent on whether you choose to install into the X-Plane 11\Custom Scenery

folder or an Orbx Central Library.

    • The initial download of TEGB South is 26GB, the installation uses at least twice that and the installed product is 127GB
    • The initial download of TEGB Central is 16GB, the installation uses at least twice that and the installed product is 77.3GB
    • The initial download of TEGB North is 22GB, the installation uses at least twice that and the installed product is 142GB
    • The initial download of TE Washington is 39GB, the installation uses at least twice that and the installed product is 207GB

    2. Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 must be installed before the installation has been started.

It is free of charge and can be downloaded here.

    3. The installation process can take a long time.

The initial download time will depend upon the internet connection.

    Notes.

    1. If when you start X Plane 11, you see this message:

    ORBX GB South XPlane11.JPG

or the same white text on a blue background

    Untitled.jpg

then it may be that the file conversion is not complete.

This can be resolved by running "Verify Files" which will restart the conversion process

    Convert.cmd

  2. Hello,

the "switcher" in FTX Central works as it should.

For it to work though, there must first be a roads and a roads_t folder.

When you operate the control panel and set transparent roads, the

roads_t folder is renamed to roads but the roads folder is renamed to roads_x.

Upon operating the control panel again, the roads folder is renamed to Roads_t

again and the roads_x to roads again.

If the sequence has been disturbed, just delete both folders and run Verify Files.

This will not take long and will undo any damage.

  3. Hello,

as has already been posted several times, the installation is not complete.

    Please try this:

    Hello,

if the download is complete you can try downloading the attached file and dragging it into

    X-Plane 11\Custom Scenery\Orbx_C_GB_South_TrueEarth_Orthos\textures.

This should convert the textures for you.

    Convert.cmd

    This was the result:

Thanks a lot for your precious advices. I 've followed the instructions given in Nick'post as you suggest.

I converted the jpg files in dds files by adding the  "convert" file in the texture folder. It took some hours but now everything works perfectly as you can see on the picture.....Marvelous work....I'd pay a lot for the same quality scenery of whole belgium.....

    Thank again.B733_6.thumb.png.be8969f914fc26bc4d98be9035cae268.png

    • Hello,

it is less to do with being "petty" than leaving the freeware airports

in place to interfere with the region's versions.

Imagine that you had bought FTX Germany and when you updated the

freeware airports, it broke several of the airports that you just paid for?

I would expect that you would be back here complaining that the freeware

      airports were available.

As you point out, it is what it is and it will not as far as I am aware be changing.

    • Hello Dale,

there are two missing posts, the second of which was a comment on a specific

      issue and was indeed political.

You appear to have first misquoted Doc_Z who wrote "political discussion" and then redefined "political"  to become " of opinion".

      The definition is clear

      Definition of political

1a : of or relating to government, a government, or the conduct of government

b : of, relating to, or concerned with the making as distinguished from the administration of governmental policy

2 : of, relating to, involving, or involved in politics and especially party politics

as taken from your own American dictionary.

    • Hello John,

not wishing to start a discussion on the National Health Service, there are those that believe that

it is not underfunded at all, rather that it is constantly being meddled with by uninformed politicians,

top heavy with management and that the funding could  easily be much more effectively spent.

My own experience of it is that the operational staff are without peers in the way they treat the

      patients.
