Port Moresby to Kokoda

Last night our team has arrived from Auckland in a Air Nuigini B 707. This time we don`t board a tube and rely on ATC to guide us, this time we are on our own and fly to places, no ATC will ever cover. Our first leg will bring us over the center mountain range in a brand new Caravan to a place called Kokoda in order to help deliver urgently needed goods to remote villages. In Kokoda we`ll switch planes again and use Cubs to reach our final destinations: airstrips you normally don`t dare to touch.

Hmmmhh…it looks like everybody else is using Twotters here

We leave our somewhat comfortable hotel for the unknown

Over the outskirts of Port Moresby. That place sure hasn`t changed much compared to the last time I was here in 1994 in real life

Fog is the last thing we need now

One of the tribal elders has been painted on the plane for our protection

These remote villages we are going to fly into with the Cub? Hmmmhh….

If the fog stays there for the next 15 minutes, we are going to be fine

Ok, we made it before the fog hit us. Another Twotter. It seems they don`t like Caravans up here

Time for lunch, I guess

Very nice pictures and an excellent paint my friend. You can take that Caravan, fully loaded, quite easily into most of the Track/Trail airfields but getting out of some of them in that load configuration is quite exciting!
