Ailsa Craig is an island 10 miles off the Southern Ayrshire coast. It rises 1110ft above the sea. The granite on the island is used for the manufacture of Curling Stones. The island is also a bird sanctuary especially for Gannets and Puffins.

Nice shots, If I remember correctly I believe I was able to see it from Turnberry.

Great shots and tour - Thanks!  Have not made it over to the coast by Turnberry and Prestwick yet myself...

Wow that is an impressive rock, great shots of it.

Grand set of shots Martyn.

cheers

Iain

Beauties all of them.

You'll need to go back with an amphibian and grab that poor guy, shouldn't be stranded on a rock.  :D

Really nice pics mate.

Dave.

Nice snaps. I love the paint scheme on that BN-2 Islander. Screenshot 4 is my favorite out of this set.

Great shots!!

If you were to climb Merrick (the highest mountain in Galloway) on a clear day you can spot Ailsa Craig quite easily.

The Merrick is a great walk from Loch Trool:
