xor
Now that dedicated X-Plane-12-only Orbx-products have been released alongside X-Plane-11 Orbx-products (e.g. YBBN), can we still expect existing X-Plane-11 products to be made officially X-Plane-12-compatible eventually (without added X-Plane 12 functionality, of course)?
mapletree1
i wouldn't mind paying a small upgrade fee for full xplane 12 compabilty, if only for True-Earth titles! Edited January 13, 2023 by mapletree1 1 1
BradB
Several threads already on this , and no reply's from Orbx yet .
JimmiG
Maybe some kind of response would be in order. I'm not expecting a detailed roadmap just yet, but at least a "We're working on it" or "It's not happening" type of response.

I imagine that Orbx may not have enough info at this stage to make a call. Orbx have always been industry leaders in offering free upgrades despite the inherent costs, and would I'm sure continue the practice if possible. But they also need to consider the costs of constant upgrades and for XPlane's diminishing market share it may prove too much. I must point out that that the products that have been purchased for XPlane 11 continue to be compatible with the version of the sim that they were purchased for, so there's no denying that purchasers have received exactly what they paid for. XP11 can still be used, therefore the products have not been superseded or devalued. In this case I expect Orbx to not release any statements of intent until they have enough information to make a decision one way or another.
bvdboomen
I altered your line to make it Orbx's first person: We do not release any statements of intent until we have enough information to make a decision one way or another. Is also an answer Orbx could give. Communication takes away half the speculation, frustration and doubts. Not only now but always in any way. Which ones aren't compatible? My TE sceneries are worked well. I think XP12 versions should have added XP12 functionality, even there would be a upgade cost. Last 30 days XP12 has average 282 concurrent players and XP11 930 players, together 1212 players. XP11 has avg 2578 players April 2020 (highest month). It has avg 285 players in 5th month. MSFS was published August 2020. XP11 had 2066 users July and September it had 1285 users. All data is taken steam. https://steamcharts.com/app/269950#Allhttps://steamcharts.com/app/2014780#All MSFS has avg 7021 users last 30 days. https://steamcharts.com/app/1250410#All So it is understable that MSFS is priority. XP12 needs more users and we XP users must be more inclusive. I have noticed in XPlane Forum some arrogance towards average users which may drive away new users. I think regarding TE it products it's probably more of a native Orbx Central type of installer, the airports work in much the same way however they don't yet have all the ground features we are seeing in XP12, I understand we may have to wait etc but I don't understand the deafening silence, I use 3 different sims depending what I want to fly and which app I am using to organise my flight.... rhalunen
@Anna Cicognani It's been awhile since you checked in about Orbx TE Regions. Anything new to report? Roger
