Nascar's greatest crashes and passes

love a bit of Nascar, amazed how many cars actually got airborne...when I left the Army I spent 10 years doing the fire/rescue at Thruxton race circuit in Hapmshire, a very enjoyable volunteer job interspersed with some fast moments of action....

Easy to get airborne at over 200mph Wayne.

yeah for sure, I remember watching a car at Le Mans once that took of and ended up on the wrong side of the barrier, may have been driven by Alan Mcnish...

And then there is the worst one of all. This isn't pretty but it's a critical part of motor racing history. Many of today's safety standards came about as a result of this tragic accident:
