Stillwater Posted July 8, 2022 Share Posted July 8, 2022 During the past 2 1/2 years some airlines have disappeared or drastically cut down their service - such has South African Airways: They have given up all international connections, and sold their share in the former SA Airlink. This connection is therefore not longer offered by SA Airlink, and I chose a somewhat smaller plane to simulate it. Getting ready in Johannesburg, ... ... out of the city, ... ... and over the greenland nearby. Travelling as we all would have liked. Drinks have not been served yet, as we are still climbing. Soon the North Drakensberg mountains come into view. The descend begins over the small village of Ohrigstadt, ... ... and leads us over the spectacular Three Rondavels. Not much to see from Moholoholo animal recovery station, ... ... not from Balule Game Reserve either. But Hoedspruit airport is easy to spot. Let the vacation begin! The luxury plane was just to take a quick alternative to my usual jetliners. And to keep me trained with this slightly different-to-use aircraft - from starting the engines to programming the flight and to manage the altitude. At least the route was not confusing and no much traffic or clouds around...
