Orbx Split

I am glad I waited until what Microsoft came up with - MSFS2020 just blew my mind when I saw it for the first time - and it still does. The third party developers did an amazing job so far, with Orbx being at the very top when it comes to creating new sceneries.

I just had a look at the new Split scenery by Orbx. You did an amazing job on that, not only on the airport area itself, but also on the details which can be seen on final approach.

I just asked myself if Orbx could release LDDU also covering Bka Kotorska between LDDU and LYTV, as there have been flights between these two airports until the early 90s - even though the distance is just 50mk going by car and 40km flying on plane. One iconic place there yould be Herceg-Novi being located in the north of Boka Kotorska. A decent LDDU scenery would be complimented by adding a few towns in the southern approach and depart area. What do you think?

Good one! :)

No honestly, Split scenery on MSFS looks amazing, sure does even better in 4K. LDDU would be a great addition too, especially when the Orbx scenery would cover more than just the airport area - like they did in the Split scenery. LYTV by PYREEGUE was nicely made aswell, the airport area at least, but they could have done a better job with Porto Montenegro, and Kotor still is default - everybody who ever has been on a cruise ship vacation in the mediterranean knows Kotor. Boka Kotorska definately deserves an update - a mesh update would be nice aswell, would also work for greece and italy... When you're approaching LYTV from the south, there is town called Budva - which is also far from being acceptable in default configuration.

It would be awesome when Orbx would pay more attention to this part of the world (at least when it comes to landmarks - what we got so far is rather disappointing). - Nis and Ohrid are great aswell btw!

I had to do a double take also .

Me too. First I thought these are screenshots, because I did not see any people on the shots which is very unusual for a real life seafront location. Then I spotted the people in the sea and on the beach to the left of the third shot - and they are definitely real or borrowed from Pilot Plus.^_^

The default scenery has nothing in common with the "real thing" - maybe except the shorelines, but there is missing a lot to give this landscape its profile in MSFS.

The default version might be acceptable on final approach from a certain distance, but when it comes to bushtrips, this area definately needs an update - maybe MS one day updates it themselves, but I wouldn't rely on that. And I also could imagine Orbx does a better and more detailed job.

Yep, I agree! I was critical with some recent releases from Orbx, but LDSP is very attractive. While I have seen better implementations of terminal interiors, the whole package including outside-the-airport-scenery adds a lot ot the immersion. Keep up the good work, Havant Team!

You appear to be running the very interesting images through an editing program, with an 'effects' in place.

I don't think it is Sepia. What is it?:)

TTM

Yes, I am curious too.

Are these perhaps scanned old photographs?

There are also missing three landmarks when you enter Boka Kotorska from seaside  - the first is a small isle called Mamula, which is pictured in the first two pics. Second is Prevlaka peninsula located at the croation border. Landmairk three can be seen on the last pic on the right side - being built at around 1830 by Austria-Hungary back in the days.
