Flexman
I'm new to the forum so hello everybody. I'm Omar from Spain. I've been wondering if there's a way to offset the viewpoint center in Prepar3d. Right now, the POV is always aligned with the center of the monitor. I want to see more cockpit to one side than on the other side. Right now, the only way to do this is to pan the camera. The problem with doing this is that the PFD will no longer be aligned with the control column (as it should be). I basically want my PFD and control column on the right of the screen while being able to see the whole MCP on the left side of the screen. I use the FO seat but the same would apply for someone using the standard captain seat. Is there a way to just offset the POV like this? I made an animation showing what I mean. Thanks! Thanks
Nick Cooper
Hello, I don't think that there is, given that one can vary the eyepoint but not the seating point. To be honest, although the second screen is what you want, it looks very odd. I notice that if one "looks" to one side using the hat switch, the yoke "stays still", so perhaps, if you use Chaseplane or an equivalent, you could "turn" to to one side and save that as as a camera position. Flexman
I use chaseplane but it doesn't add any camera movement that isn't already possible with default P3D. One can indeed vary the sitting position. Sitting position is essentially camera position. I just want to see more cockpit to the left, without changing the viewpoint (moving the camera) to keep the perspective correct as in the real airplane (PFD aligned with Control Column as it should be)

I don't think that the simulator can do exactly what you illustrate.
Flexman
Yeah, that solution feels a bit off. I could keep the sim in windowed mode, make the window wider and just drag it to the right so that part of the window falls outside of the monitor. wolfko
Sorry guys, I only now realized that this is about P3D and not MSFS. I have checked and this POV is not possible in MSFS either. So my appologies for raising expectations. @Flexmanand @Rob Abernathy you now can remove your upvotes from my last post again.
Flexman
I was reading and it looks like it might be possible. There's a CFG/SDK setting called LeftSideAngle/RightSideAngle, etc. But I was playing with it and didn't see any changes so maybe Chaseplane is overriding these settings. In MSFS, as far as I know, this isn't possible. You can move the camera, of course, but you can't pan the whole flat projection, which is what I need. In MSFS - I think it is - and I use it quite a lot because I also use the co-pilot's seat You will find it in the standard keyboard binding - using a combination of the left/right/up/down keys and called "Translate cockpit View Left" etc you can then bind it to how you want elsewhere in your Controllers In P3D - I have never found simliar

That one moves the camera, I want to move the projection. I found a way to do it but it doesn't work if you use ChasePlane. MSFS still has no good airplanes so I'm sticking to P3D for now.
