olderndirt
'Empty and fragile beauty' - a fitting description. As lonely as it looks, there are small towns dotted over most of this with roads interconnecting - mostly single lane and the occasional 'A' road with a centerline. flyingleaf
Beautiful shots. As long as there are distilleries loneliness means nothing.

Wakashi
Fragile beauty describes a lot of the world today sad to say, but your shots of the Scottish coast gives a bit of hope for the rest of us! We need more one lane roads and less 'A' roads with a centerline, imho! (sorry, just getting old I guess!)

Wife and I discovered single lane on the last several miles of our drive from Glenfinnan to Mallaig. Lots of 'passing places' where you can give way to oncoming traffic or pull over and let the guy behind pass. Not a whole lot of traffic either way so it's very relaxing and the left/right thing doesn't matter.
