Finally with the chance to get a bit of simming in, Im doing a few legs from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. The first leg sees a spot of sight seeing on Catalina island.

N346CP, a sturdy C172 is our workhorse for this trip. Here on the John Wayne Ramp fueled and loaded with the cargo for the first leg.

Picking up the 202 Catalina VOR to track towards the island and hopefully leave the haze behind. Port Angeles in the background.

The beautiful island of Catalina in view, and the haze has cleared. We start a descend to do a circuit of the island for some sightseeing.

Rolling out after a bone rattling landing. The daily DC3 service on the right that brings supplies and post to the island can be seen on the side.

Shutting down and parking on the ramp. Time for a buffalo burger!

Leg 2 will see us flying along the mainland coast south towards San Diego through the San Diego VFR corridor to Brownfield close to the US Mexico border. Thanks for looking.
