TigerTigerM
A few shots from the domhenry Freeware collection. Taken in & around Southampton International, which, I suspect, is too short to get these aircraft off the ground. TTM
VH-KDK
Great old planes from a long gone era. I would think they could both take off for a display but I am not sure in a combat situation. Hopefully some kind gent with the knowledge can answer this question.

I'll have to look up their take off run. Southampton is not huge & I flew them both through the Ford? factory before they would lift off. Now they are made in Turkey and the factory has been demolished. How about reducing your fuel and payload! I often do it when I am taking off from somewhere I shouldn't i.e 738 from Walter Sutton's. Back in those days it was all about density altitude - enough heat and humidity and the takeoff run exceeds runway length. This occurred a lot with T33's and at my location, Paine AFB, the F89's often had that problem. So much for the Air Defence system in '58.
