Our average temperatures at this time of year here where I live are pretty similar to those in the UK, but it's forecast to be a little warmer than average here over the next several days. So I know a little of what you mean, but it's nothing like 92F! Wow! I've always thought it would be rather bizarre to live Down Under and experience Christmas in the summer. I suppose it's normal for those who've spent their whole lives there, but it must feel strange for a Briton like you. I know it would for an American like me. Merry Christmas!
