Verisimilitude or closeness to Reality.

Deliberately used a big word, but it is intended to express the intention of the authors to get as close to reality as possible.  With a LC product this of course is far harder than True Earth and even harder than photoreal naturally but these are frozen in time and season.

In my opinion the team have come extraordinarily close to reality with this remake of Australia.  I love it.

Here the first two shots are approaching and turning over Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef Whitsunday Group ...see John's shots of the submerged reefs further north.  Hamilton Island is the most modified of the GB islands, and has an airstrip used by jets.  Many of us think it is a truly ugly development but it was permitted a very long time ago.  But the detail in these shots, even at height is fantastic.  There are two high-rise buildings on Hamilton but they seem to have been scaled back to a more realistic height.

Departing over Hook Island to the north of Whitsunday Island.  Lovely anchorages but check out that fringing coral, just looking to scrape your keel or snag your anchor. But one of this world's most beautiful cruising grounds.

And for something completely different a very well detailed landscape of a large coal mining town and plant, a place called Collinsville (there is a VOR located at the field).
