Nomad One
In keeping with tradition with some of my other photo sets, a little something different! Who doesn't like a big, noisy, ugly aircraft anyways? Especially in a beautiful landscape such as the Caribbean! Enjoy!

Jack Sawyer
Beautiful area to fly this plane. I didn't know it had twin props. Were they counter-rotating?

VH-KDK
Wonderful shots, another amazing old plane. Only ever saw one flying and the noise was incredible. 4 hours ago, Jack Sawyer said: Beautiful area to fly this plane. I didn't know it had twin props. Were they counter-rotating? A double Mamba engine Jack with c/r props, gave it a lovely ring in the air and also ran on kerosene, diesel or wide cut turbine fuel! They could shut one engine down in flight to conserve fuel. Had a double folding wing giving it a "z" shape. The first turbo prop to make a carrier landing. Quite a plane and more interesting history. Jack Sawyer
Wow!! Thanks Martyn! Excellent info in a plane I've never even heard about, I'm going to have to research this. Two engines and they could shut one down in flight! Amazing. I'd love to know how they engineered the propellor shaft.
VH-KDK
Feast your eyes on this Jack. How about this aeroplane being the oldest flying turboprop!
