I have been revisiting some of the fantastic orbx scenery and planes that I have.

For me, it is too easy to move on to the next purchase.

Anyway, here are a few shots - all from PNW

I hope that you like them.

Amazing shots of planes and scenery.  Like I keep saying, so many planes, so many places to fly and so little darned time...

Thanks Jack! :)

Despite FS being many years old, I am amazed at the scenery and planes available nowadays. It is so real!

Fantastic set Paul.

A wonderful array of beautiful old warbirds, great to fly with the canopy open!

Just gone back for a second look to inspect the scenery.

Thank you Martyn! :) Well I usually fly low and slow so I might as well have the canopy open! ;)

All of these pictures are so crystal clear.  I don't know how you do that.  Is it a function of a very good video card?

Thanks PDX :). Well, I guess that screen resolution helps. I run mine at 3440 by 1440. Generally a higher resolution brings greater clarity (as you probably know).

Are you running this on a computer monitor or on a television.  How does this resolution affect FPS?

Hi PDX,

When I bought a new pc at the start of this year, I also purchased a new monitor (Dell U3417W).

This one is an ultra wide screen 34". As mentioned, I run it at 3440 by 1440.

Ideally if money was no object, I would get an even bigger UWS!   I think that LG have just released a bigger one.

UWS is really great for FS IMHO.

For FPS, it is also about the rest of your pc. My last pc was slower and I used a 1920 by 1200 resolution.

This new one is pretty fast (look at 'hidden contents' for the spec) . Basically it has an Intel I7 7700k Kaby Lake processor/ 16GB of fast memory and a GTX 8GB 1070 video card.

Anyway, I decided to go with a bigger monitor and a greater resolution.

I am very happy with all of it!

FPS is not an issue, even with the sliders set high.

Cheers

Paul
