The incarnation of the 100 $ burger tour

Recommended Posts

"In the early 1950s, United Airlines served the airport with scheduled passenger service with nonstop flights to Long Beach Airport (LGB) and direct, one stop service to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) operated with Douglas DC-3 aircraft." [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalina_Airport]

So it is an easy decision on which plane to take for a short hop out of Santa Ana...

Err... where is the runway?

A bit too far to the right, but slow enough to correct.

This guy did it better.

After lunch, the regular service with PanAm was ready to return to the mainland.

Top-of-the line choice of shotz! Ideal weather except for Catalina, which often is cloudy like nothing else...

West-coast weather, even so far in the south...

I wished they were closer, at least it was the correct plane.

As far as beauty, the DC-3 may be my all time favorite.  BTW, how is the frame rate in SCA?  I have sort of afraid to buy it, although I do have a 4770k@4.4 and a GTX 970 vc.

No worries with the frames in the entire region - with one exeption: In LAX area they drop down (I have FSDTs KLAX in use), so it is wise to reduce AI traffic if you go with complex planes there. And with your machine you should even be better off than me.

... and there are even more expensive tours to think of, a group flight with a DC-3 is rather economic...

Always great to see the DC-3 with some fine scenery and skies to go with it.

Strange to see it in Pan Am colours but it does look rather good in them.

I don´t know why someone created the PanAm livery, but it might be an intended low budget re-start of the airline.
