  1. A bit of a placeholder, I'm afraid ... dealing with mega flooding issues here in Auckland Adam.
  2. it's freeware - but for best results, you really need Orbx NZ Mesh for the surrounding mountains. Plus ... I also use Bijan's trees (payware) mod.
  3. I have XP12 installed. As soon as we get more Orbx scenery working with it I might spend more time with XP - and would enjoy having an XP Wilga to play with. Does anyoneknow if the Thranda version is XP12 compatible? Here's Yours Truly a couple of years ago at NZNE (Bob, you've been spared!):
  4. Indeed!! I must dig out those pics (I promise not to post that one of you in the Moth, LOL)!
  5. I love the "broom handle" flaps lever! Yes - and I think what's behind it uses more oil the fuel!
  6. This really is a superb addon from GotFriends. Packed full of features and wonderfully detailed. I've looked around one in RL - and it's just as quirky as it looks ... but so full of character. As usual - NZMF as a starting point: Nice camouflage .. From summer in NZ to winter in the UK (nr Kemble, Gloucestershire): ... and finally ... Adam.
  7. Wow! Have we ever had THREE winners before??? Congrats to all - some superb shots there!
  8. Is that the Springsteen or Manfred Mann version? LOL! Great shot!
  9. A bit late in the day ... but this is one of the best sim shots I've seen for a very long time! Simply amazing!!
  10. Thanks again to all that voted for my NZMF (Milford Sound) entry - and, of course, to Orbx for awarding the prize: the superb Maryadi/Miltech Simulations MV-22B Osprey. What better place for a photo session than the original NZMF <?> - with a quick lash-up/fictional RNZAF livery so I'm cleared for NZ skies: I turned on MSFS Live weather (hmmmm) - it's early summer here in NZ!!! Normal service is resumed! I really enjoy these screencomps (themed or un-themed) a great excuse to indulge in an eye-candy fest. MSFS has many shortcomings as a sim, but it really shines in the visuals. With Orbx mesh laying down a sensible foundation for the textures, you can get some stunning scenery. Thanks again, Adam.
  11. For me, it's the photo-realistic view of Sumburgh by iliasr
  12. OK folks ... mini-poll here! This one (let's call it "Pebbles") ... ... or this one (let's call it "Mitre Peak") <??> .. Just like children, I love them equally!!
  13. Thanks for the encouragement, folks!!! Yes - the great thing about NZ topography is that there's so much variety - all crammed into a small area, so distances are never that great. I must admit I looked long and hard at #3 - and just couldn't decide which of the two was better. Judging by the reaction here I should think about swapping them over!!!
  14. As usual, the hardest part of the comp is working which out of the gazillion screenshots get dumped. All these were taken in MSFS over NZ (Orbx NZ Mesh). MSFS has its faults, but the eye candy is wonderful! A crisp spring day - Ants Tiger Moth: The Milford Sound reject (shock, horror!): Near NZQN - Queenstown - still in winter, apparently: Global warming add-on activated: I love these old jets: Adam.
  15. After a few test flights in the PAX variants, I thought I'd have a go at the "Aggie" models. I can load the hopper in the default MSFS fuel panel, but can't seem to find a hopper lever or button. No mention in the docs (which only seem to be checklists). Any ideas?
  16. For my prize (thank you all) ... I chose the wonderfully versatile PAC P-750 XSTOL: My maiden flight: Adam.
  17. Many thanks to all that voted for my shot - and, of course, to Orbx for the prize!! I remember having fun with the PAC Crescos and Fu42s in FSX and P3D, so it's great to have another Pacific aircraft appearing in MSFS. Here's my maiden flight - from Queenstown (NZQN) to Mount Cook (NZMC) ... with Orbx NZ Mesh doing the honours ... There may be more to follow
  18. Many thanks to all for voting for my pic. I had great fun "flying" the theme and choosing/composing all the shots. I like the "themed" competitions, as they give you something to think about - and a sense of purpose. Thanks also to Renault for being such a good sport!
  19. I'm not allowed to let an NZ-mesh related beauty pass without comment! Stunning!!!!
