  1. I bought Sumburgh on Throwback Thursday, but didn't load it or fly it. Then I saw all the negative comments about it, and expected the worst. I have to say, speaking only for myself, I was very pleasantly surprised.
  2. Hello Don. I recently upgraded my system, and we have a few components in common, the CPU and the motherboard, both of which I think are terrific. Like the others, I can't help but feel the the GPU will be your Achilles' heel. I had a 1080ti, but wanted to be able to fly MSFS in 4k, (which it did) and VR, (with which it would have struggled) so I bit the bullet and bought an Nvidia 3090. I know it's like using a hammer to crack a walnut, but I wanted the new card then and there, and I felt that as both the available 3080, and the 3090 prices were inflated because of the crypto miners, I opted for the 3090, as the markup on it, was not as savage as on the 3080. The other area I boosted was RAM. I had 32GB of DDR4 in the machine already, and boosted it up with another 32GB to make 64GB. All of that really makes my PC, and MSFS sing. Overkill perhaps, but if you could go to 32GB, I think it could make a difference. And, I agree with Nick and the others about M.2 SSD drives. Your new motherboard wil accommodate two, and the prices aren't too bad now. I have a 1TB, and a 2TB card. The 1 has the OS, and some other programs, the 2 has my flight sims. But, really at the end of the day, it's your system, however I strongly suggest another look at the GPU
  3. I agree with BradB, your comments weren't combative, but if they were you've nullified them with this post. And, like BradB I reinstalled ALL of my sims, FSX, P3D, and X-Plane, to do a comparison with MSFS. They're now uninstalled. I truly think that this sim is a masterpiece. Flawed, perhaps, but wow, if you'd shown me this five years ago, I wouldn't have believed it. The good thing, as far as I'm concerned, is that it's being developed, and there are lots of good things ahead for us. So much so, that I've bitten the bullet, and gone to i7-11700k, 64GB RAM and an Nvidia 3090. Cost a bit, but it makes MSFS sing.
  4. I'm afraid I can't agree. Perhaps it's not quite as "up there" with MSFS-specific airports, but at the price, I'm glad I bought it. I think it sits quite well in the sim.
  5. I agree. I bought this, and before I flew from it, I saw some posts decrying it. I think it's great, and at the price, terrific. It was one of my favourites in other platforms, and now it looks terrific in MSFS. Well done!
  6. I'm not one normally given to hyperbole, but I must say this could be one of the most significant and beautiful scenery designs ever developed for a flight sim. Stunning!
