  1. Now that Sydney has become more detailed, I can remember my last holiday flight. Over 2 years ago... With respect to my 6 GB GPU I have set the resolution to 2K only. Morning view from underneath the Coathanger. Cockle Bay Wharf. Quite well done, look at the building details. The fountain is missing, and the tourists. The Opera. Rose Bay Seaplane Terminal. Frank, if you need you can use my pictures to improve the terminal building. Macquarie Lighthouse. Can´t be improved, my compliments! And finally a city view from Taronga Zoo.
  2. Hi guys, Its been a while that I've posted on these forums. I find that the performance while looking towards the City is severely affected, I've also noticed that there aren't any LODs for the buildings? ( I could be wrong but thats what the LOD checker in dev mode is showing). This could definitely affect the performance. Any help or tips would be appreciated. Best regards, Ridvan Celik

  8. Orbx is proud to return to our roots with our very first Australian product for Microsoft Flight Simulator - Cityscape Sydney! We know that many of you have been keenly awaiting news of our first homegrown project for the new sim, and as such we have to kick things off in style. Over nine months in development, Cityscape Sydney is an enormous project that pushes the boundaries of what is possible with the current MSFS SDK. Acclaimed developer Frank Schnibben (Cityscape Honolulu, Melbourne Cityscape for AUv2) has brought to life Australia's largest city with his debut MSFS scenery with the assistance of our in-house team. A complete cityscape, the scenery captures the feel and energy of the harbourside capital, with thousands of details and features across the entire metropolitan area. Over 100 custom points of interest have been faithfully recreated, including the city's tallest skyscrapers, well-known icons, sports stadiums and bridges. Whilst most of these have been created with a high level of detail that prioritises high optimization and unique PBR texturework, we have created a few ultra-high-detail "hero assets" - models that rival airport terminals in terms of detail - perfect for exploring right up close. You can see this in action with our incredibly detailed Sydney Harbour Bridge - the centrepiece of this scenery. Custom aerial imagery replaces the default Bing ortho for the inner suburbs, airport and CBD of Sydney. We made the decision to use our own ortho as it is a vast improvement over the default; fidelity, colour quality, source resolution and tonality, as well as Frank's hand-editing bring this feature to life. Additionally, water colour and detailing is greatly improved; the world-famous beaches of Bondi and Coogee look far more realistic and vibrant. Watermasks in the central parts of the scenery have been totally replaced, more accurately depicting coastlines. Frank has also totally replaced over 28,000 primary buildings with his own custom-designed models in complete 4k PBR. This vastly improves the type, footprint height and roof types of the most standout towers, residential blocks and commercial buildings not covered as points of interest. These improvements extend far beyond the primary coverage zone - major suburban centers such as Parramatta, Chatswood and dozens more have been replaced. Lastly, Port Botany next to Sydney Airport has seen a major overhaul, with detailing and improvements to this landmark that is visible on all flights into and out of the airport. AT A GLANCE Our first Australian scenery for MSFS An entire Cityscape covering the City of Sydney Airport terminal-quality Hero Assets such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge 103 Custom PBR landmarks across the Sydney metro area 28,000 replacement buildings with corrected heights, footprints and building types 250km2 of pristine custom aerial imagery - perfectly colour balanced and hand-edited Thousands of placed objects to bring the Harbour City to life Stunning night lighting Replacement watermasking for more accurate coastlines Improved tree heights in select locations Improved suburban centres and POIs beyond the primary coverage zone Port Botany recreated From acclaimed developer Frank Schnibben, with assistance from our in-house team As the first of several major Australian projects currently under development, we look forward to sharing more information and shots of Cityscape Sydney over the coming weeks - be sure to keep an eye out on our previews forum and social media for more information. Enjoy!
  9. One more set dedicated to this masterpiece created by Orbx developer @Frank Schnibben and his team.
  10. I am really impressed with Sydney cityscape scenery. Pure beauty + excellent FPS. Someone pull my jaw up please! Congratulations @Frank Schnibben and Orbx developers from the team for this masterpiece.
  11. Been waiting for this! Lovely bit of work. Some exploring to be done here, for sure!
  12. Hi Orbx, can I ask if Sydney is currently under development? If not, an appproximate? Also, what features are expected to be implemented with it? Many thanks,
  13. Just updated to p3dv4.2 and noticed issues at night. There seem to be weird blue patches appearing despite it being totally normal during the day. Any suggestions? (also using FlyTampa Syndey)
  14. I am pleased to announce a rather different approach to flight simulation videos. A 6-part B777-300ER tutorial demonstrating a long-haul flight across the Pacific from YSSY to CYVR using FTX AU and NA. The tutorial is intended to educate, entertain and to provoke informed discussions on this forum by covering flight planning, flight preparation, departure, en route and arrival procedures. It includes planning for and execution of ETOPS and re-dispatch procedures. I decided to make the captain the centre of all views. So, no views that a real-world captain cannot see. The tutorial element is supported by voice interactions with both the crew and air traffic control and extensive helpful texts. You can also view the flight plan. A full list of hardware and software used in the making of the tutorial is included at the end. Please contribute your comments as posts to this forum.
  15. I have been getting a few issues surrounding Sydney in the Orbx Australia region. For some reason, near the city centre, the terrain doesn't load properly and weird tiles are generated instead (as seen in the image attached) 2017-10-10_19-2-23-266.BMP
  16. Some flights from Sydney to Bathurst and return, and Sydney to Port Macquarie
  17. Carenado PC12 Swiss Army Knife from Sydney to Adelaide (apologies for being so dark)
  18. Taxiing to Runway 16L FlyTampa YSSY Bathurst from 8,500ft Finally after 4.5 hours puttering at 120 knots Broken Hill is in sight Shutdown, Tied Down and now lying down Tomorrow will go from YBHI Broken Hill to YMIA Mildura then YPAD Adelaide
  19. Hi all, Seems I have an AU traffic problem unique to my PC and not a problem with the AU traffic pack. I have been using AU traffic for years and love the realism. My problem is when I go to YSSY Sydney, I cannot see any international operators there. The only aircraft at the international terminal are Jetstar, Virgin and Qantas. The rest of the country seems fine, with Thai, Emirates etc visible at Melbourne. I recently installed v4.00 and then v4.10, but the problem remains. I also un-installed FSX from my PC and re-installed everything back on, including SP3 and AU traffic, but the YSSY problem remains. Can anyone help? Thanks Thieds
