  1. The bad news is that everyone’s looking at me like I’m supposed to know how to pull this 'plane out of its tailspin. The good news is that, at my funeral, my parents will be able to tell me one more time that “Being a pilot seems like a bad choice for someone with amnesia, Doug.”
  2. I bought a house in California in 1972. It cost me $40,000. The good news is that that house is now worth $1,345,000. The bad news is that I sold it in 1979.
  3. If his computer is really that big then it's true.....size matters.
  4. Exactly so Michael. As I've said in posts on the "other site", this is going to be a major problem going forward. I've been building computers for over 20 years now and until this came along I'd never heard of PTM or PTT. If M$ really thinks joe-average user can cope with this they aren't even as smart as some thinkle pink they are.
  5. Keep is going Rodger. It's a welcome relief from all the stuff on the news channels.......
  6. Most of my family is from Texas and we drank sweet tea all the time when I was a kid. It's really good stuff and even better if you add a little bourbon .
  7. It really doesn't matter to me. I drink my tea along with equal parts of lemonade and Kentucky bourbon and the tea all tastes the same.
  8. I have it installed but it's disabled. I don't see any differences either.
  9. During our working lives a lot of us have had occasion to review prospective employee resumes. I sometimes got a chuckle out of how ceative folks could be when describing their prior work experience. But the best of all didn't come from work. Rather, it came from a woman who grew up in a neighborhood where I once lived. Our home in those days was in a golf course community and the house across the street was adjacent to the 8th fairway. Located on the right side of the fairway, and about 200 yards off the tee, the back yard was prime territory for errant golf balls. The lots were wooded and large (1 to 2 acres) and golf balls could really hide in the trees and leaves. And here is where the resume-writer comes in. She was only five years old back then but already knew that a little extra money was a good thing. So, she would scour the woods behind her house for golf balls, load them into her little red wagon, and then go door-to-door around the neighborhood selling them for 25 cents each. This went on for several years and many of us came to rely on her for our supply of good and slightly-used golf balls. Now, fast forward 20 years... My "golf ball gal" was all grown up, a college graduate, and had started a promising career as a model and actress. I had a chance to see her carefully-prepared resume for her first modeling job. After going through the obligatory listing of education and training there came the section on prior work experience. And it contained only one item..."Golf equipment marketing and sales entrepreneur".
  10. When a Pittsburg Pirates scout told me my curveball was among the best he'd seen in 20 years. Then he told me my fast ball might get me a job on a girls team somewhere.

Kidnappers are not very interested in you.In a hostage situation you are likely to be released first. No one expects you to run into a burning building.People no longer view you as a hypochondriac. There is nothing left to learn the hard way.Things you buy now won't wear out.You can eat dinner at 4 PM.You can live without sex but not without glasses. You enjoy hearing arguments about pension plans. You have a party and the neighbors don't even realize it.You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge. You quit trying to hold your stomach in, no matter who walks into the room. You sing along with elevator music.Your eyes won't get much worse.Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.Your joints are a more accurate meteorologist than the national weather service.Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can’t remember them either.Your supply of brain cells is finally down to manageable size.
  13. Because you think you're in charge and he just finished writing his latest book titled How To Train Your Human.
  14. John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The night I met him it was his 43rd birthday. That was a special day for me and I I think of him every year.
  15. No need for new licenses. After you install P3Dv5 just run Orbx Central to install your scenery.
  16. That's what I like about this place - we're all friends here. And what better way to vent feelings, frustration, and stress than to unload on folks who'll listen and understand. I truly wish you and your's well Don. And if you need to "vent" again, we're here to listen. Please keep us updated.....Doug
  17. And don't ever let your doctor tell you that just a wee trace of blood in your urine is nothing to worry about. If it wasn't for my wife (a nurse for 40 years) I'd be in big trouble (or dead) now. She went ballistic and sent me to a urologist. Turns out I had stage 2 bladder cancer. Fortunately, a single surgery and a little chemo 10 years ago "fixed" the problem and there has been no sign of a recurrence. So...never, ever ignore ANY blood in a urine sample as it's probably telling you something important.
  18. Good to hear it's working now. Welcome to the forum(s).
  19. Why do you want to OC the RAM? The performance difference with any flightsim won't even be noticeable.
  20. I don't have an answer for you but I just wanted to say welcome to the forum(s)....Doug
  21. You can probably also get some ideas right here: https://orbxsystems.com/forum/forum/42-flight-plans/ .
  22. Now that I think about it you're probably right. I can't even take a 500 mile journey my son's ZO6 Corvette.
  23. No doubt about it. Leave Damascus toward Cairo. Pick up the Nile at Giza and follow it south to Abu Simbel. There is so much history to see on that flight that it boggles the mind.
  24. I'm a little late to the conversation but it seems a pretty good bet that the CPU just can't feed the 1080 at a fast enough rate for there to be much difference compared to the 1060.
