franck66
Hello, I'm a new member of this forum, I order (order 586926) FTX SP3 last week and now happy to fly over Australia. I'm new on FSX word but not really in aviation, I'm member of AJBS (www.ajbs.fr) and Casques de Cuir associations (www.casquesdecuir.com) two associations located on the Cerny-La Ferté Alais airfield, some 30 miles south of Paris. Besides the fact that this is a museum with some venerable flying machines, a large part of the aircraft are maintained to flying conditions and are frequently displayed in airshows all over France during the flying season (yes in France we have a season to fly and season to maintain ). this is for me a good reason to make some flight with lot of aircrafts and make some shots like these one : [img width=933 height=700]http://pegase.foxalpha.com/photog/0206/002212.jpg [img width=933 height=700]http://pegase.foxalpha.com/photog/0206/002174.jpg [img width=933 height=700]http://pegase.foxalpha.com/photog/0204/001587.jpg I'm also maried, with two daughter, 40 years old, rugby player and for the moment an IBM application engineer Thanks for the FTX SP3 world, this is defenitively a new way to fligh with FSX

tim_A
PS: I'm fortunate enough, thanks to FSX guru mates, to have exact replicas of both the aircraft and its longtime home base - Popham, a great rural field in Hampshire. Means I can pick favourite flights from my logbook and recreate them, even down to the weather on the day. Fsimming doesn't get more realiatic than that - and no fuel bills! Alcibiades
Hey Stephen, We booked the last flight on the last day, and instead of a 45 minute flight, we got a bit over an hour. It was $100 a seat (the money went to charity), but as we booked all nine seats for our tree service crew, one seat was free. I organized the whole thing so I got first pic of seats, I took the very front seat by the cockpit. Great seat, but about 6" of leg room. I asked the pilot if I could stick my feet in the cabin and he said fine. We had to call the pilot "Dad" as per the co-pilot's instructions. Very nice guys. The co-pilot let me sit in the cockpit for a few minutes after the flight. Best flight I ever had, and the first time my woman had ever been on an airplane. gexor
First post! My name is Mike, I'm 25 years old, and I live in Victoria BC Canada. I'm currently a risk analyst for a local e commerce company but my passion is flying. I've got 225 hours of flight time and I'm flirting with the idea of going commercial. I've got an epic adventure planned to fly from Victoria to Bella Bella or the Queen Charlotte Islands this summer (both a ways north of the coverage area of PNW). PNW Rules! Looking forward to some flights to Saskatchewan this summer to see family.
gexor
I hate you. The flying club over here only has 172s and 152s. PNW is great. As we speak I have another window open flying a Twin Otter from Pemberton up to the Glaciers to the North.

antonvs
My turn to introduce Myself Nic: antonvs (not hard to work out) Name: Anton von Sierakowski Yours truly viewing the beautiful Guy Fawkes River National Park and dreaming of what it would be like to fly the area (The heart of FTX AUGold). Location: Home is in Bendigo, Vic AU (YBDG) but have been on an extended tour of our great country for a year now, currently in Devonport, Tas I spent my working life in Industrial Electronics for Companies like Rank Xerox and BHP Billiton and later years were spent in IT, namely database maintenance. I have had a passion for aviation since childhood. I started PPL training at YMMB with Civic Flying School, but this was interrupted by a trip to Europe. Spent four years in the Air Training Cadets and later had the honour of teaching cadets in London (SW16) during a period I lived there in the seventies. At a camp at RAF Manston I was enthrawled by the aerobatic skills of an ex RAF spitfire pilot (Bill) flying in a DHC-1 Chipmunk. One other outstanding experiance I had was several days spent in a Cessna 172 in the company of a Mustering pilot in the Pilbara region on NW WA. He would fly for as many as six hours swooping tree tops and into gourges with only brief 20min rests after making spectacular bush landings on sandy tracks. At the end of every day spent with him, I swore I would never go up with him again, but by the next day I couldn't resist. At the time He had over 5,500 hours of mustering time logged. Truly amazing. FSim History: Lets just say since the wire frame days. Ones I can remember are Ver 1, 5, 98, 2000, 2002, FSX. For some reason I missed FS9, I was doing other things for a while. But made up for lost ground with X. Over the last year, while travelling with my partner we have travelled over 35,000Km and I have found FSX and FTX a fantastic means of seeking out new horizons before reaching an area and then reviewing the same area after we have visited it. It is for this reason that I am limited to a notebook and a wireless gateway and also the reason that I am now stuck for getting FTX PNW as my plan is only 5Gb per month and we are not still long enough to have a DVD posted. So you will only see screen shots from FTX AU for a while. Our "rig" in Northern NSW Inside our van showing the notebook setup with the Joystick on the ready. In addition to Australia, I also enjoy the European Alps aided by ...X. A favourite circuit here is an oliptical circle in the valleys from Sion to lake Geneva and back. As to aircraft viewing some of my screenshots will reveal some of my favorites GA: All Carenado, Epic LT and now Victory VLJ, Flight 1 Cessna Mustang, A2A Cub with accupak (what fun) and now my absolute favorite Flight1 PC-12. Truely amazing all rounder, fast, sleek, well equipped and just a great flyer. Heavies: PMDG MD-11 and JS41, Wilco 737 PIC still slowly learning correct IFR procedures and FMC usage. Rotary: Wilco Tilt Rotor and all time favourite rotary - R44 Raven II So here's to the future of Flight Simming!!! Cheers....

macca22au
Oh Antonvs, I flew over Point Lookout probably hundreds of times, it was en route to Coffs Harbour used extensively on nav tests and flights from Armidale, where I learned to fly. Also it was a warm winter destination for us from Armidale to escape to, and not run up too much by way of flying costs. I only wish fate had allowed me to take you on that flight, but the years and health have removed my license, and my career ended us up in Brisbane, well the Gold Coast really. Guest simtechdave
Very cool to put a face to the name... great idea. My real name is Dave Kester, I use the forum name of simtechdave. I've worked for FlightSafety Int. as a simulator technician since 1998. I am currently the Simulator Qualification Technician for the Seattle Wa, Learning Center. My main job is to keep the simulators certified with the FAA and other civil aviation authority's from around the world who use our simulators. It beats the hell out of working for a living. The picture below was taken right after my first solo in 2007. I've been flight simming since the late '80's.

BigDBlue
Hi Guy’s, My name is Phil Raulston. I just ran across this thread. Great idea. Putting faces to the people you meet in the sim’s and forums. I’m sorry to say I could only find one photo good enough to post here. A little about myself, I’m 62 and was born in Dallas, Texas, USA. I work in a factory that makes Automotive Air-conditioning compressors as a Quality Control Inspector. My co-workers started calling me “Blue†and I liked it so it stuck. It also happens to be my favorite color. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to use just “Blue†as a call sign because someone else was already using it. Being from “Big D†(Dallas) I started using “BigDBlueâ€, but my friends just call me “Blue†so feel free to do so. I have always loved planes and anything to do with aviation since I was in school. I read everything I could get my hands on about flying and planes. So when I discovered SubLogic Flight simulator I had to have it. I’ve had every version since the beginning. Flying on an old portable Commodore 64 with a tiny 4-inch screen. Right now I fly both FS9, and FSX. Mostly FSX. The only reason I still fly FS9 is because of some Alaska scenery, which is not yet available for FSX. I love Bush flying. And I use Holger Sandman’s Tongas and Mysty Fjords scenery. Now the Tongas Fjords scenery is available for FSX. So now, with the great new Pacific Northwest scenery I fly FSX in Alaska, Western Canada, and PNW. My favorite planes to fly are the Aero Commander in the Texas Livery, and the DeHavelland Beaver. So that’s about all there is to say about me. I’m just now learning to do Multiplayer flying with some of you guy’s, and am enjoying it. Hope to fly with more of you soon. Is there some other way to do multiplayer online without using Game spy? If so maybe someone can e-mail me and explain how it’s done. Till then, “Blue Sky’s guys†Phil Raulston, “BigDBlue†bigd.blue@yahoo.com
