VH-KDK Posted July 25, 2013 Share Posted July 25, 2013 This version of the DC-3 first flew in 1949. It had a I metre fuselage stretch, re designed wings and tail. More powerful engines were fitted along with flush riveting and streamlined antennas, in fact more than 75% of the original DC-3 was changed giving it a top speed of 250mph. However it was too expensive for the customers it was designed for and only 3 were sold to Capital Airlines.
