World of AI and FTX?

But they are in FS9 format, and need to be converted to FSX. If not you will lose your FSX AI. To quote a post by Holger Sandmen...

"As stated before, if just one active flightplan is in FS9 format none of the FSX format flightplans will be used. All WOAI flightplans are currently in FS9 format so they need to be converted to FSX format. There are a couple of converters available. I use the one available at http://lc0277.nerim.net/wiki/ -- direct link is http://lc0277.nerim.net/bglfpfsxconvert02.zip -- because it is compatible with Vista 64-bit.

 Isn't this fun !

Hi there,

you can sort the WOAI website airline overview by country and thus easily find the Australian carriers: http://www.world-of-ai.com/allpackages.php

However, the FTX AI package includes all carriers, national, and international, that operate in Australia. Thus, the WOIA packages won't add any diversity but instead duplicate flightplans and aircraft (meaning, you should deactivate one or the other of each duplicate carrier's flightplan).

Hi guys,

actually, I did it the other way around: I deactivated about 35 FTX AI flightplans that are duplicated by WOAI, including Qantas, rex, and Virgin Blue. I'm sure that the FTX AI flightplans are more accurate and (for the national carriers) complete but found that WOAI uses AI models that look better. Specifically, FTX AI uses a lot of the PAI (Project AI) models while WOAI uses AI Aardvark etc. I realize that this is an issue of usage permissions for FTX AI (i.e., they can't use AI Aardvark) so this isn't Mal's "fault".

WOAI are all FS9 bgls so put them through the converter.  Only takes a few seconds.  And if you are not sure, put them all through the converter.  No harm done.  How will you know?  If ships disappear from your lakes and seas, if no other AI shows then the FS9 bgls have taken over.

Hi Tailgunner,

Thanks for that. But I was thinking generally, not just WoAI. My Scenery/World/Scenery folder is full of traffic files, and all too many I can't identify as Fs9 or FSX ...

I don't think there's a reliable way to identify FS9 format flightplans. That's why I run them through the converter if I'm in doubt and then give the output .bgl file a "_FSX.bgl" suffix. That way at least I know which ones I've handled before.

Cheers, Holger
