One of the highlights of travelling by train to Waterloo from Bournemouth in the 60s was looking to see which of the liners were in at Southampton. I can remember seeing the United States on one occasion. In 1958 I arrived from New York on the Queen Elizabeth. A very pleasant way to travel if you can put up with the motion of the ocean!:)

Nice set of shots OND. :)  I've traveled by train, plane and civilian cruise liner, but my preferred method is buy SUV by far. :D

Planes - to much of a PITA nowadays.

Train - to confining and boring.

Ship - to regimental and boring, had more freedom and fun on the Navy ship. :D
