Turns out I needed to untick the box in XPlane General Settings, "Runways Follow Terrain Contours", to flatten it out, [see below] The same held for Quatam River. Propstrike have been in touch & advise that the "Runways Follow Terrain Contours" box should be checked, & to look in the Scenery.ini folder to get the Quatam custom mesh in the correct order, so I will be trying that.
