Kian_Andrews
Hi I have recently reinstalled P3D and upon reinstalling the ORBX base and Open LC EU I have noticed these odd textures. Firstly at nightas they're more obvious but at day they are also visible. It's as if the default is bleeding through. I have tried regenerating the terrain.cfg, reinstallling, verifying the files and resyncing the simulator with no joy. Please see the screenshots: Sorry if this as been answered before, I had a look around but, just as I have vaguely named it others will have too. It is hard to name what the issue consequently, hard for me to search for it. Thanks https://imgur.com/qkx6MEc https://imgur.com/VaS8DKc
okupton
I am seeing similar issues.

Kian_Andrews
Specifically that was North of Madrid however this is pretty much everywhere
Kian_Andrews
It's not a localised issue
Kian_Andrews
Here's another example. The airport in the screenshot is LEBA if that helps. but as I have said it is not localised.
Kian_Andrews
Further update: I have tried to reinstall the libraries and open LC again with no luck. Cruising near the Serbian/Bulgarian border nearest airport on the PFD is LYNI
Kian_Andrews
Any suggestions? I’ve tried uninstalling all ORBX deleting the folder in sim root and then reinstalling everything with no luck either. thanks
Doug Sawatzky
Hi Ensure the Orbx Libs are installed and up to date, and I would do a verify files of them from within Orbx Central. I would then go to settings/help and run the Sync Simulator function first. Then you can go to settings/Insertion Point and set them like this. Ensure all of your 3rd party non Orbx addons are at the top of your scenery library and above your FTX entries. Then in Orbx Central Insertion points "Orbx Airports and Regions”, put your last non Orbx 3rd party listed in your scenery library addon in the INSERTED BELOW window. Then for the "Orbx Global openLC” ensure the Orbx Airports and Regions are in the INSERTED BELOW window.

I've synced the sim All the scenery library options are as you suggested and I have cnfirmed that in sim the order matches and looks correct. Thanks for the suggestions @Doug Sawatzky however I'm still having the issues see here an image from the southern coastline to the Bristol channel near EXMOR on the EXMO1X out of Bristol. It's as if default is somehow managing to find a way to bleed through? Thanks
Kian_Andrews
I'm going to see if I can download the old FTX central and see if that fixes it. Clearly obvious here departing Vienna. I have no ideas remaining apart from reinstalling the sim. No clue what's happening. I've also tried restoring default shaders with no joy. okupton
I was having the same issue in North America and finally got it fixed. I reverted back to using the old FTX Central in place of the new ORBX Central and my problems are gone.

Kian_Andrews
Fingers crossed. I'm just downloading base again in the old FTX central. Glad you managed to sort it! Hopefully mine will fix itself now
Doug Sawatzky
When using the new Orbx Central, all the global products should be installed into the root simulator folder and not in an external library....this is what the previous FTX Central does. okupton
Thanks. Daytime flying looks great, but will have to see if the issue is sorted for dusk / night flying.

Got it. Maybe that was what my error was. But since it's currently working for me, I don't want to change back to the new ORBX Central.

Hi, Doug. This is the first I've heard of this. I don't seem to see these problems, yet I have both Open LC NA and Open LC EU installed in a library external to the P3D root folder, another drive altogether, in fact. Global Base, however, is installed in the ORBX folder located in the P3D root folder (where it should be, at last count), along with Orbx Libs and Vector. What do you think, is this arrangement ok, or should the Orbx Libs be placed in the external library along with all the rest of the Orbx sceneries, along with the Open LC NA and EU? If it's not broken, don't fix it, I've always thought. Stew
Doug Sawatzky
Hi Stew If your install is working then I would leave it.
Stewart Hobson
Slight correction, the Orbx Libs are indeed installed in an Orbx Library on the separate drive, along with Object Flow 2 and the rest of the Orbx sceneries. As far as I can see, the installation is working properly, with no issues.
Kian_Andrews
I've just realised that because I'm using FTX central I can't install the newer sceneries such as Edinburgh? It's a little disappointing because despite having many issues with ORBX Central (issues for which I have had minimal support from ORBX) reverting to FTX central which works now means I can't install some sceneries? I'm worried if I upgrade to central again I will be back at square one. And, after it requiring many hours of reinstalling and deleting things including the sim itself I really don't want to face that again. Thanks
Nick Cooper
Hello, there is no reason at all why you cannot use Orbx Central to install your newer purchases. You do not need to disturb your installation otherwise.
Kian_Andrews
Okay I will try that. Thanks, Nick. However, this shouldn't have to be the case as Central should work.
Nick Cooper
Hello, your choice has been to return to FTX Central. For me, Orbx Central does indeed work but then I disturbed nothing of the original installation and have added only new products to an Orbx Central Library outside the simulator. RodgerC
This just happened today shortly after taking off from LOWI. Had several photos with nothing but black in the mountainous terrain. Not sure why. All of my global products are in the root simulator folder.

rjlfry
I found that when I open and use C4 it changes my ORBX scenery order but not my other scenery, this causes issues with textures in the sim, but I now correct the scenery order manually with addon organizer and that solves the problem, why is it reshuffling the scenery order Like this. https://www.flickr.com/photos/154944674@N05/49265508716/in/dateposted-public/ All the base and OLC have been moved above the airports and regions. https://www.flickr.com/photos/154944674@N05/49265041113/in/dateposted-public/ this corrects the issue after manually moving the files. Doug Sawatzky
Are you using the insertion point tool in Orbx Central to properly set the order?
rjlfry
1 hour ago, Doug Sawatzky said: Are you using the insertion point tool in Orbx Central to properly set the order? Yes as C3 below my addons it stay between the top of the sim base scenery and below my addons but changes the order of ORBX scenery every time you use C4. This I found was the cause for me with night textures showing on day scenery as P3Dv4.5HF was loading the airports then the base scenery, and even caused elevation issues at some airports. https://www.flickr.com/photos/154944674@N05/49265869811/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/154944674@N05/49265405108/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/154944674@N05/49265405748/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/154944674@N05/49265406398/in/dateposted-public/ This is the ORBX scenery order priority adjusted be me, that works for me verifying files did not correct the issue or reinstalling.
