olderndirt
Benbecula to Skye - same trip Flora MacDonald made with the 'Bonnie Prince' after the '45'. Of course the airport was yet to be built and the SF260 wasn't even on the drawing board but they made it with a boat and six stalwart boatmen. She was arrested and placed in 'the Tower' but released during an amnesty for 'those rebellious Scots'. She and her husband migrated to North Carolina but played on the losing side during the Revolutionary War. Flora returned to Scotland via Canada and ended her days back on the Isle of Skye. Benbecula Airport - saw extensive use by RAF Coastal Command. Skye in the distance - short trip, a bit longer for Flora and her boatmen. The earth has rotated all night to get to this point where the sun again says 'Good morning'.
