Gabe777
Hi there. Have this elevation issue at Nome - which isn't one of your airports, but just under the OpenLC and FTX Vectors that are active. This is what I have - mountains and sloping rivers ! Can someone check if there's is the same - if not, what can I do ? Thnx
MikeFlight
That's how it looks to me. Sloping rivers, fences across the water, but no other elevations. I also use the mesh FSGlobal2018
Gabe777
Thank you ! So it seems FS Global has the elevation tool built in - but why has FTX dropped the ball on this ? For a start - Nome is the only major Alaskan hub it hasn't #improved# , but even so, why the horrific appearance - all else in Alaska is superb. Please sort it out if possible. Nick Cooper
Hello, FTX Vector does add a little bit of water to the airport but the elevation problem that you see and indeed the airport itself are completely unaffected by Orbx, as there are no Orbx files. Here is the airport as seen with only Orbx products installed. Here is the airport in relation to the nearest Orbx region.
Smudger
Hello, I do not see your problem, but I also use the mesh FSGlobal2010 as I think Nick does.
Nick Cooper
Orbx products only, as stated.
Smudger
Apologies Nick, I was trying to think of what could result in their problem .
Kim Sibbritt
Hi Gabe, Elevation problems like this are usually caused by a conflict between whatever AI Traffic programme [like Traffic 360 or MY Traffic etc.]your using & your scenery. Go into the Scenery folder or your traffic programme & isolate or remove the bgl of the affending airport your elevation should then be corrected. Cheers...Kim
Gabe777
Really - Traffic ? I am using UT Live, and a few custom BGL traffic files - I will take a look. Thnx EDIT - no, I did a full search for anything PAOM related - and nothing found.
Dieter
I suspect that the problem might be caused by the high resolution FSGlobal2018 mesh. Try to deactivate the North America part and have a look again. (I assume there is no additional AFCAD/ADEX file for POAM active?)
Nick Cooper
It's a combination of the additional water added by Vector that is completely missing in the default simulator and then adding the 2018 mesh. I would suggest that the use of Pilot's AFM would probably solve the problem with the 2018 mesh.
Gabe777
SOLVED !!! Thanks for all your help guys. SIMPLES - TOPOSIM MESH Ughhh…… At 5M which is the SAK and other regions default mesh - Toposim creates a mess at various places, including Nome Disable TOPOSIM and all good at 5M. Thanks again ! FYi -- I do not live near Nome, but am an actual " Gnome " - so it has a place in my heart !
