Jon Clarke
@Ben McClintock Hi Ben. I don't have any problems but for the sake of those who do have similar problems in this topic, can you verify what Joe McGough saying regarding Visual C++ ?Maybe post an official response? Some guys have had problems for 3 days now. Thanks
C F Garrod
Same error message for me, have been trying for 3 days, using FTX Central I get 'Error, could not locate image file for terrain etc etc...' Tried Manual download, process gets stuck on 'Installing' or 'Scanning'. Plenty of HD space and apparently achieve the full 126GB download. Today I uninstalled all the downloaded files, looking to update whatever I can and will try once more then give up. I don't have the required pc knowledge to do much troubleshooting. Feel like asking for a refund.
Joe McGough
Please take a look at my post on page 1, this has fixed the same issues you are having.
C F Garrod
Thanks Joe, sorry to be so ignorant, there are 3 files on that link page concerning Visual++, do I download and open all of them?
Nick Cooper
Hello, yes you might as well. The first one probably will refuse to install. Install the other two.
C F Garrod
Joe, in that link page do I run arm.exe, x64.exe, x86.exe or all three of them? Thanks, Chris G OK Nick will try thanks for your time.

Joe McGough
Just download the one file that represents your PC, either 32 or 64 bit.
Nick Cooper
Actually, I think both is the better bet. Just because the PC is 64 bit does not mean that the software requiring this is 64 bit.
Joe McGough
True, however im just going through the steps I took to enable it to work.
Joe McGough
Just wondering has this fixed the issue for you C F Garrod?
RobinPeel
I believe that I am seeing the same errors that others have mentioned. It would be great to have step-by-step directions for how to resolve this. I got one error when FTX Central got to 100% of the install process, and the X-Plane error when trying to load UK scenery (attached as images) There was an earlier mention of .jpg files in the textures folder. I have 12098 files in that folder, a mixture of .png and .jpg files. We really need complete, step-by step directions on how to fix this, in plain English! - Robin
Joe McGough
Have you tried downloading the files ive mentioned earlier?
Matthias Merk
I have the same problems. Everything installed.
Gussgull
cool what file to download I am on windows 10 64 bit also would it be best to do a complete reinstall of TE once visual basic installed ?
Joe McGough
I downloaded the 64 bit version. I had the manual download available so just used that. You will need to rerun the install so it converts the files correctly.

I really want OrbX to step up and define a complete, step-by-step, supported solution to this problem. There seems to be something broken in their install rprocess. - Robin

Joe McGough
Gussgull I would uninstall it, download the visual C files then reinstall. You will know if its working if it takes around 2 hours when it gets to the convert stage.

C F Garrod
To Nick and Joe, Bingo! Everything now works perfectly, the scenery is fantastic, many thanks for your time. My pc is Windows 10 64bit, the 'vcredist_x64' file was the only one in the link page that I could open. Chris
