pipeorgan
X-Plane exits after having trouble locating certain TE GB South Terrain files. I have the latest FTX Central and have run a file scan. Any ideas?
yosss
Hi there. I got the exact same issue. Posting my screenshot below. Looking forward to get this sorted out. Edit: Using EGLL as airport.
U103968
I am getting a similar issue with a different terrain file not being located. I am using EGTF as my departure airport. Regards Phil
Nick Cooper
Hello, do you have any image files in those folders?
robbiet71
Same issue at EGSX (wouldn't load at all) and after flying north east from EGHI was somewhere near Popham and had same kind of message as above. What I saw from EGHI was excellent -until it crashed. Rob
U103968
I have 14,768 files in this folder and they all have the "ter" extension Regards Phil
robbiet71
The .ter files I have start at a6 but the texture files start at a7.
Nick Cooper
How many files do you have in the texture folder please? I am seeing 12,098 and as above 14,768 in the terrain folder.
robbiet71
I have 10268 textures and 14768 terrain files The total installed download was 'only' 106GB. (3 folders combined) I thought it was odd because I had more space left than I'd expected.
Nick Cooper
That seems to be the problem identified. I don't know enough to identify if this is your problem or a general one. It would help to know the texture file count of someone else. @Ben McClintock

robbiet71
All working fine now. Restarting my pc running FTX and verifying files fixed it.
Paul_Jones
I've had exactly the same issue as PipeOrgan when trying to load x-plane 11 after installation of True Earth GBS. I then did a verify files scan in FTX Central v3.3.1.4 and it scanned through 29496 files. After 2.5 hours and only getting to 18950 I gave up
Peter Lurie
Same problem here, I verified the files, didn't work, now switched off my pc and verifying again... lets hope it works. Exactly the same error.

mc.johns137
Hi all, Just a note to say I was getting a similar error, but I hadn't correctly updated to the latest version of FTX Central - have done that now and I'm going through the "conversion" process. Kind regards, MCJ

Nick Cooper
If you are missing dds textures, please delete or rename one jpg file. Then run "Verify files" and FTX Central should complete the conversion.
Fab10
Thanks Nick, but my install ran from late evening into the early hours. My Orthos are 100Gb short of the required 123Gb total. The scan slows my PC to a crawl, and so I have opted for a manual download. Thoughts?

Ben Rigney
ok fixed restart the pc then "Verify files" if it fails to work after this DO IT AGAIN you will find that the number of files being downloaded and converted will smaller each time this is a good way of knowing if its going to work

Orbx Flyer
19 minutes ago, Ben Rigney said: ? Oh...I just posted that you see this with a user using the freeware Ortho4XP conversion engine. Sometimes, you need to do a re-download of the JPG raw Sat Photos...and Ortho4XP will pick them up... I think that the new Central is doing the same thing....converting raw JPG Sat Photos to formats usable by XP. I always had assumed that Orbx was putting together a fully vetted and already converted XP file format from their Sat photo source...but is apparently off-loading that to each user's computer and data usage stream. pipeorgan
I would appreciate if orbx could give an update as to what is going on here and what exactly users should do. I have provided two sets of failure messages and will do more tests if necessary otherwise I am just going to wait until it is sorted out.

pipeorgan
Thanks but I cannot now get that far. As soon as I run FTX3 and select X-Plane it starts converting and installing files and then stops with the error message. I now never get to the option to Verify files. PilotPhil
Hi, I am brand new to this forum. I have just purchased and installed GB scenery South for X-Plane 11. When I try to load up X-Plane 11 using an airport in the South of the UK I get the following Error Message - Error, Could not locate image file for terrain Custom Scenery/Orbx_C_GB_South_TrueEarth_Orthos/terrain/a830x10020x17.ter Custom Scenery/Orbx_C-GB-South_TrueEarth_Orthos/terrain/ ../textures/a830x10020x17.dds Can anyone help please? I have tried uninstall / reinstall - you would think in this day and age you could just buy it, install it and play it - driving me insane! Nick Cooper
Hello, welcome to the forums. There must be enough space on both the C drive and the destinaton drive for the installation to be successful. The textures folder should contain 12098 files and no .jpg files. If you are confident that you have all the files and enough free space, you might try this

Joe McGough
TRUE EARTH GB SOUTH ..... Hi everyone I have found the FIX for anyone having the error displayed in the pictures in previous posts. It seems that our PC's are missing vital files that help with the conversion process once it has been downloaded. You are missing Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013. Click the link below and install from the download button. Once you have this True earth GB South will convert correctly and you can eventually go flying, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx…
