scottb613
Hi Folks, Just a quick question - - - new to Vector (thanks for the sale) - - - is there a quick and easy way to temporarily disable all the flattens included with Vector ? As some may have gathered I'm a huge fan of Little NavMap and in order to do an accurate scan of "Freeware Improved" airports - I need to disable these files to prevent all the false positives for the scan - then turn them back on when done... I don't see Vector as an option in the scenery.cfg... Thanks... Regards, Scott
Triplane
I don't know which specific files are involved but you should see Vector entries in the scenery.cfg file. Mine look like this: [Area.003] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_AEC Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_AEC Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Layer=3 [Area.100] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_EXX Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_EXX Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Layer=100 [Area.101] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_CVX Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_CVX Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Layer=101 [Area.102] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_APT Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_APT Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Layer=102 [Area.103] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_FixedAPT Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_FixedAPT Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Layer=103 [Area.104] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_OBJ Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_OBJ Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Layer=104 [Area.144] Title=FTXZZ_OLC_FixedAPT Local=ORBX\FTX_OLC\FTX_VECTOR_FixedAPT Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Layer=144 Your Layer numbers will, of course, be different but I think temporarily disabling these files will let you do what you want. Scott Harmes
Hi Scott, There should be several entries in the Scenery.cfg for Vector. You may only need to disable one entry which is right near the bottom of the Scenery.cfg: [Area.003] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_AEC Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_AEC Layer=3 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE There are also several other entries for Vector: [Area.100] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_EXX Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_EXX Layer=100 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.101] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_CVX Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_CVX Layer=101 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.102] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_APT Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_APT Layer=102 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.103] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_FixedAPT Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_FixedAPT Layer=103 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.104] Title=ORBX!VECTOR_OBJ Local=ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_OBJ Layer=104 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE There is one more which I am a bit unsure of: [Area.145] Title=FTXZZ_OLC_FixedAPT Local=ORBX\FTX_OLC\FTX_VECTOR_FixedAPT Layer=145 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE I use Scenery Config Editor for ease of use editing scenery.cfgs. Geezer
I forget what it's called but there's a setting in Little NavMap where it will disregard those false airports.
scottb613
Hi Folks, Thanks for all the info... There is a setting in LNM - LOL - I should have known - Alex thinks of everything... I didn't see anything on the "database" page - I'll poke around there as well... Regards, Scott
Stewart Hobson
Scott, If you would let the rest of us know what you find, please, it would be appreciated. I wasn't aware of this setting either--it must be in the docs somewhere, though.
scottb613
Hi Stew, Found it - [TOOLS] [OPTIONS] [SCENERY LIBRARY DATABASE] - - - has some fields to exclude specific scenery files... Should work - I'll try it later... Regards, Scott
Triplane
Thanks. I didn't know about it either.........Doug
Stewart Hobson
Thanks, Scott. I've been in the habit of just refreshing the entire library whenever I add a new airport. Begs the question, which of the Vector folders should we exclude from updates? Vector_AEC at least, I think...
dbutterf
Look here https://albar965.github.io/ for Little Navmap manual. It give information on using 'exclude'.
Stewart Hobson
Thank you. I have the manual and eventually found the information. It appears excluding Vector in toto should do the trick so that LNM won't identify those airports as addons whose elevations have been corrected by Vector. Good to know.
