Across the Caribbean

A change from white knuckle flying around PNG sees a flight from around the other side of the world.

A rather tatty looking Copa Airlines 738 will be flying from SBVM Barquisimeto to MDPC Punta Cana.

Awaiting ground services at Barquisimeto northern Venezuela.

2.sc2.jpg

Shock, horror. Done the flight plan and no ILS at Punta Cana.

3.sc3.jpg

Ready for push back.

4.sc4.jpg

On our way over the Urbanizacion Los Libertadores area of Barquisimeto.

5.sc5.jpg

Turning northwards over Yaritagua.

6.sc6.jpg

Leaving Venezuela over the sandy Paraguana Peninsula with the town of Coro visible.

7.sc7.jpg

Passing the island of Curacao, the last land for a while.

8.sc8.jpg

Well into our descent we make landfall at Isla Saona in the Dominican Republic.

9.sc9.jpg

Turning onto finals at Jina Jaragua.

A near perfect touch down on 09 at Punta Cana.

Disembarking at MDPC. The thrust reverser on the port engine opened when I was trying to shut the engines down and I could not close it.

Hope you enjoyed the flight.

You forgot your reverses!

I really enjoyed this!

Thanks Julian. I had trouble with the port engine throughout the flight. I could not adjust the thrust via the yoke control and had to drag it via the vc. I left it on auto until touch down.

I was trying to shut the engines down on the completion of the flight but deployed the reverser and could not shut that off either. I think maintenance it required!

For sure she must go to the maintenance!
Problems with reverse should be treated seriously. LoL

Voyager

Thanks Voyager. Luckily I was on the ground but I did have problems before take off with the port thrust lever. Good job it is only FS.

You get around the world so fast, Martyn... you definetively need a full openLC!

Thanks Gerold. It will be great when the whole world is covered by OLC, but what a monumental job that is. Anyway they are chipping away at it.
