"Thanks for the nice comments Martyn, I hope you get lots of enjoyment with KEGE. I wonder if that Navajo could get into the Gypsum Creek Ranch airstrip? I think the largest aircraft I tried during testing was the C208 :)

Cheers,

Jarrad"

Jarrad asked this question on another post I made so a chance to try and land the PA-31 at Gypsum.

1.jc1.jpg

The first attempt coming in from the north after a flight to the Aspens did not end very well!

2.jc2.jpg

Second try taking off into a strong southerly breeze.

3.jc3.jpg

4.jc4.jpg

Gear flaps and speed down and turning onto final approach.

5.jc5.jpg

Very blustery, the Navajo is all over the place like a mad dogs dinner(I will use the polite version)

6.jc6.jpg

Pull back on the stick speed dropping to 60kts and one side of the yoke detached from my desk.

7.jc7.jpg

Now half off the strip but plenty of runway left, trying to regain control.

8.jc8.jpg

Parked up and checking for damage.

9.jc9.jpg

So it can be done, maybe time to update my yoke, it is 9 years old!

I will have to try from the north some when, a lot harder I think.

Enjoying this scenery immensely Jarrad. Time for another flight.
