  1. Probably because this aircraft is the most well-known fighter plane of the past - another Mk1 - Mk11 has just been added to MS

by Flight Replicas - and because it is also for X box - it gives those users a crack at flying this lady - hence my adding it here

Even with my limited pension - I could afford it on day one and I love it - just wanted to share it

In a number of ways - it is not the MK1X of Flying Irons - but easier on the brain box and his bloke can do it better than I can

  2. For months - every man and his dog were pestering Orbx to release South - and so they did - at a very small price.

Rather than winge about a multitude of bit and pieces that are duplicated - and suggestions taking forever to remove

the said inferences - worrying your life away:banghead: -------- simply delete the package. 👍 ------ I have:)

    Life's too short ;)

  3. In a review of the TBM850 from Milford to Mount Cook the advice given by NZA sims was

""Thanks for the video! Just a note, please make sure you remove Orbx mesh nz, any freeware related to NZMF and of corse the World Update 12 NZMF Milford Sound, T004 Quintin lodge and Martins Bay NZMJ to stop any conflicts such as floating cliff faces etc. Awesome video!

    might be of help?""

Orbx probably waiting for the latest WU of NZ before they tackle the Mesh issue

  4. Now - you lot have really got me going:banghead:

The only true accent in the UK is a Lancastrian/Yorkshire/Northern accent where all vowels are "Flat" and was a major part

of the original speech of the Angles when England was first invaded by the Romans - Saxons - Danes - and then the Normans -

I.E - a mixture that caused the Southerners to make a bastardised version of the true Anglish.;)

Therefore - Scone is pronounced like - ON  - as spoken in the North - and Scone in The South a drawn out vowel - "sc-owe-n"

A normal example is Book/Look - Southerners pronounce it - Buck - and Luck - when it should be pronounced like an owl sounds

i.e. - "hoot" -- - which is definitely not "Huck".

Have you ever heard a train - go "Tutt - Tutt":D

  5. for all you blokes out there who wonder what real life flying is in Australia - take a look at these 2 videos

The first is the latest developement of the NEW/extra Sydney Airport - cited to open in 2026 - and get some idea of what our simming

    will look like then

immediately after the finish of this video - make sure you watch his next one by clicking the frame at the end - or -

The second is a brilliant video of a live VFR GA aircraft landing at the current Sydney airport. It may seem strange that flight control allows GA aircraft to do so

but part of our PPL training is approach and landing at a Primary Airport - or it was in my day 50 years or so ago - although in my case - I had to use Essendon

    - because Tullamarine - Melbourne - had just been opened

However - although I now land all sorts of aircraft in Sydney in my dotage via MSFS etc. - this video reminds me very much - of my time years ago - when

on my frequent business trips to Sydney - I sometimes used my own PA32 - rather than commercial - to do the journey - VFR of course. Once I had to stop short of the runway - as a 747 landed 50 yards from me

    Enjoy both

  6. one day in 1962 - 2 fellow employees and i were driving somewhere in the south of England - i cant remember where exactly -

but we were heading for Norwich - when 3 fighter aircraft came screaming at us over our heads - and one bloke said

they were Messerschmitt's - we agreed - and we stopped the car and watched them circle around and lowered the undercarts

and landed in a field out of sight to our right.

    :)

Hope I'm not being rude by asking how many decades has it been since you experienced Blackpool? I remember being taken there for holidays when I was around 5 or 6 back in the early 70s and like you, I enjoyed it. I briefly seen it back in 2014 and wasn't at all impressed with how it looks now. I believe it has also become popular for Hen & Stag weekends so lots of drunk adults at weekends. To be fair, many of our coastal towns have suffered decades of decay so it's not on it's own.

no - you are not being rude I think I have been back there 3 times since coming to Australia 52 years ago

Certainly 1980 when I took 2 of my sons on a world trip that included the UK and 2008 when the boss and I went to celebrate our 50th anniversary

and you are right - it was not the Blackpool that I lived in and remembered as a kid and adult - everything was shabby

I recently view d a video by Huddesson on u tube - and it looked even worse.

Mind you it was full of drunks in my day at weekends - and I was one of them - on works and bowling outings in the 50s:blink:

    Memories :)

I grew up in Kendal about 50 miles North of Blackpool. I remember being taken by my parents to the illuminations (lots of lights on buildings, trams etc). Magic when you are a wee kid!

Usually we just got down to the Morecambe illuminations - not quite as impressive ;)

Edit, just saw Iain's post - we clearly grew up not far from each other!

    All the best,

    John

memories indeed - glad you mentioned the illuminations John - a site to behold - 4 miles of lights and scenery - a long slow drive for

the length - and fish and chips at the end - my 5 kids just loved it every year -

     https://www.visitblackpool.com/things-to-do/blackpool-illuminations/

My sister lives in Morecambe - Blackpool's little brother - best place there was Middleton Towers Holiday camp - which could have been

my answer to the question - with Butlins all over the UK - even spent our honeymoon at the Skegness one

    Now that was memorable !!;):rolleyes::D:blink:👍

used to travel to Kendal every year to play against Kendal RUFC

  9. Once upon a time - many years ago - I physically flew general aviation aircraft of a number of types - mainly for recreation -

and owned my own PA 32 (avatar) - and just about everyone in my family have frequently flown with me - on long and short hops

The majority reaction to when they sit beside me now - when "Simulating" - say - "it's not the same feeling !"

I sometimes agree with them - "in a seat of the pants sense" - and knowing that I didn't have to be as careful in the flight rules

that I once had to be - to stay alive.

But then again !! - what else could I spend my time on - after the investment in hard and software which allows me to fly anywhere

in the World - never before seen by myself --- or my family - thanks to MS and its brilliant 2020 -soon to be 2024

Stuff - what anybody else thinks !!

  10. adam  is always putting up his favourite musicians - so here is one of mine - Ron Goodwin

I have all his records and play his film music constantly - especially the war theme ones.

Here's one of his best  - with appropriate film editing of the movie - yet to be bettered

for us flyboys.  Turn up the volume !!!!!

  11. Every time i go to Central for the past few weeks - i am offered an update for the Osprey aircraft

selecting to update results in a couple of seconds burst then finished.

Surely this is an error and spotted before now - and wastes our time

     Hello John,
I had some Minibrix, which, I think, predate you. :)

Meanwhile, in 1964, at the age of 12, here I am with a proper construction toy,
in the days before health and safety required either PPE or a roll cage
or indeed precluded 12 year olds from driving bulldozers.

"Those innovative little rectangles inspired the MiniBrix line from England’s Premo Rubber Company in 1935".

Nick - only if it was before September 1935;)
