  1. For those who might be interested Reality XP has a free downloadable update from P3D5 to P3D6.
  2. Here we are at Bowerman in the Golden Age Simulations Buhl Pup ported over from P3D5.
  3. Thanks! This is Rex Weather Force which I been using ever since FSX. I thought I would have problems porting it over to P3D6. But Weather Force found the P3D6 installation on its own and has been working fine. However, it can't find P3D6 flight plans. One of several small problems I need to fix as time permits.
  4. This is toward the end of a flight from Monterey to KSTS Sonoma with Orbx Northern California True Earth ported over to P3D6 from P3d5. All of my Carenado and A2A aircraft ported over without a problem. The original colors were more muted but I thought this version was more dramatic.
  5. Any new scenery is likely to be more expensive that in the past because the potential market is smaller.
  6. V6 is a big improvement over v5. The improved lighting makes some of the scenery really beautiful and certainly more 3 dimensional and realistic. But since most diehards have just ported over all their sluff, maybe some new scenery for v6 is coming along?
  7. I think they are updating products for v6 as time permits. I noted some changes as I moved some airports into v6.
  8. I finally got everything working using the add on method. It took a while because I had to correct some mistakes and I had to move the Orbx library to the G drive. The total installation on the C and G drive is over two terabytes.
  9. Still cannot get Global Trees to display. P3D6 recognizes it and creates the scenery index but it wont display. Also, the default P3D6 trees won't display. The only trees that display are the ones associated with Orbx airports. I have global base as an add on and it seems to be fine. Its big improvement. I have not duplicated the Orbx library for P3D6 because its about 400 gb and I have less than about 200 gb available on my 2tb C drive. At some point I am going to have to move files for v6 over to my G drive where P3D6 is. Anyway except for no trees all the 30 addons I have created so far for v6 look an work great. 6 is a big improvement over 5.
  10. So sorry for your loss. We have lost many cats over the years. All four that we brought to Oregon 9 years ago are gone. We have two real sweeties now that we got from the local animal shelter.
  11. I encountered a problem with the Orbx Trees. I copied it from the Orbx Library to the P3d6 add on folder. It worked at first, but now P3D6 does not display any trees. This method works for about a dozen Orbx airports I have moved over without a problem. I do have trees that are part of the airport scenery for these airports.
  12. Flying South and adding airports into V6 as I go.
  13. So far I have loaded about a dozen Orbx airports into V6, mostly in Oregon and Northern California. They look better in v6 due to better lighting effects. The only two that are not usable due to big elevation errors are Siletz Bay and Rohnerville. Gradually working my way south.
  14. It ight help if those who have found ways to install Orbx products in v6 would report their results for individual products. I know it could save me some time and maybe Orbx developers also.
  15. Lots of elevation issues at S45 Siletz Bay. With Orbx the airport is down in a chasm, without it houses without foundations on the hillside.
  16. Here we are at KRDD, Redding ,with Orbx trees in P3D6. I have been gradually adding Orbx into P3D6 along with Carenado and A2A aircraft. So far no problems, but I have only scratched the surface. I discovered that if your Orbx products are in the Orbx library you can copy them one at a time directly into P3D6 addons. I am taking it slow so far only Redding, Murray and Orbx trees. It seems to me that the main advantage over P3D5 is lighting. The lighting in v6 can be excellent, but you have to work with it a bit to get the full effect.
  17. If you guys can get the Orbx trees packages over to v6 that would be a great start.
  18. After working with P3D6 all afternoon I can say you can get it looking pretty good out of the box if you fiddle with it enough. Medford, which I fly out of a lot, looks OK, not as good as with Oregon True Earth but at least the streets are not blue. Klamath Falls looks pretty good, maybe because its a National Guard training base and got a little extra attention. If you turn off volumetric clouds the clouds look pretty good with the right lighting and you can get a reasonable balance between the brightness of the the scenery and the brightness of the cockpit via tone mapping. Water on the runways looks pretty good, better that Xplane 12. The worse thing is the trees. They look pretty bad. All in all, I think its better than version 5. Needs Orbx obviously, however.
  19. Now in Central all three of my simulators, P3D5,P3D6, and Xplane 12, all show correctly, but still no products show for P3D6.
  20. I installed P3D6 today. Now Orbx Central recognizes P3D6 but does not show any products available. Also, for some reason Central no longer shows Xplane 12, Don't know why, but it doesn't matter since after installing Xplane 12 and trying it out I did not do anything further with it and never bought any add ons. I don't have MSFS installed.
  21. I am going to install a personal copy of v6 some time in the coming week. I will report back what Central does after that. Also, one of the products I don't have in v5 is EGTB So if it becomes available in v6 I will buy it and see what happens. I bought Xplane12 earlier this year but after trying it decided not to go further with it so never bought any Orbx or other add ons for XP12. It shows up in Central for me and shows the Orbx products I never bought as available, but I guess that's a different situation with setting up v6. I very much appreciate the work you guys are doing to make v6 available and am in no big hurry. Setting up v6 is going to be one of this winter's projects.
