Great looking shots. I am slowly getting into XP12 myself. Shots like these are encouraging.

Nice ILS approach and finally made a good landing.

I went ahead and bought a 5800X3D. Will install it over the Thanksgiving holiday with help from my son. Also, tried the XP12 demo. Not too impressed so far.
Will keep working on it.- 2

Thanks Sniper. It was like going into a white hole. Cam out the other side unscathed.

Well doggone. I was unaware of the Ryzen 7 580X3D since I had just been looking at Ryzen 9s. Will check it out.

I updated my machine early this year. i have concluded that my Ryzen 3800X is fast enough most of the time, but I would benefit from something faster. I am considering a Ryzen 5900X but am waiting for the price to come down more. The Radeon 6800X does pretty good, with 16gb of ram. I have a two tb m2 drive with just P3D on it. Its about three quarters full. I have no plans to go to MSFS but will probably go with Xplane 12 after a bit more time. A 2tb ssd is within my price range so will probably add that, put XPlane 12 on it and add the 5900x before the end of the year. Will see if I can overclock it to 5.0 ghz. I have not heard anyone opine on how well Xplane 12 even outs the workloads between the processor cores and the video card. My underlying strategy on this stuff is to not go for the most recent top of the line components but wait until they have been around for a year or so and the price has dropped..

The best use for the frame rate counter is to judge the effect of changes you have made with the general idea that with frame rate set to unlimited you can see how the changes effect the frame rates and load on the system. For example, in P3D turning on volumetric clouds really cuts the frame rate by about 25% so I set frame rate at 30 and get less sever stuttering with volumetric clouds turned off. Its a help in tracking down problems.

Seems like every flight from Southern California to Medford, Oregon goes right by Mt. Shasta.

Joao Paulo II Airport, Ponta Delgada

Here we are coming to the apron at Ponta Delgada airport, LPPD. Its in the Atlantic, about 600 miles due west of Portugal. This is after a 5 1/2 hour flight from Princess Juliana, TNCM, Martinique, mostly at FL 40. Lots of thunderstorms along the way. I was surprised when the green night lighting came on.
I think the illumination is pretty good.
The stars are faintly visible.
A bit quirky, but not a bad looking airplane.
