Nice shot! Did you land that thing in Palm Springs?

This is an early morning flight from EGPH, Edinburgh, Scotland to EIDW, Dublin, Ireland.
About halfway there.
It was just finishing raining when we arrived.

Leaving Tahoe on a winter's day flight from KTVL to KLVK, Livermore, Ca. The South Lake Tahoe airport is just off to the lower left. Since A2A is getting close to releasing the Comanche for MSFS I decided to take it out again and renew my acquaintance. This in N4258P, a Comanche that my brother owned and in which he flew me and my wife on the same route 20 years ago. Marius did the repaint for me. Having the Comanche in MSFS is the one thing I have been waiting for. Will probably give MSFS a try when the Comanche comes out.
This is the Camanche Reservoir about halfway between Tahoe and Livermore, Ca.

I updated Xplane12 and ran it. Loaded and opened twice with no problem. I was flying out of KMFR, the Medford Oregon airport. Today the program simulated the Crater Lake highway elevated bypass that was opened a few years ago. In the first version of Xplane 12 the bypass was not there. The default scenery looks better than the default scenery in P3D. Keep in mind that I have not added any airplanes or scenery to Xplane 12. I am waiting until the full version comes out.

Interesting airplane. How fast is it? What's the range?

Sorry to report I cannot get the images to open. I get a message that says the image is not available.

12-6-22 Still getting Vulkan loss error. I saw a report on the Xplane website of some sort of failure to set memory error.

A flight from EFHK to EDBH.

I loaded Xplane today and got no Vulkan loss error. Flew a touch and go. Then I closed Xplane, started it a second time and got the error. Then I updated Xplane, restarted and got the error again. Interesting.

Wain71,
Thanks! Glad to know it is not just my system
-
I should add there was also a new AMD Radeon driver update. P3D runs fine after that update.
-
After downloading the latest update to Xplane 12 I started getting a Vulkan Device Loss Error. I submitted an error report. We'll see what happens... As it is now I cannot get Xplane to load.

My experience so far is that the Ryzen 5800X3D we installed over the Thanksgiving holiday and Radeon 6900X seem to be a good combination. I can now fly into areas like San Jose with high settings and decent frame rates.

I really don't know the answer to your question. Maybe go ahead and get Big Bear since its no cost and if there are problems consider getting NA Southern California at the next sale which will probably be around the end of the year.

This is near the end of a flight from Fresno to San Jose, Ca. Above the rudder is the San Luis reservoir. We are about 40 miles south of San Jose near Los Banos. Connected to the San Luis reservoir is its forebay. And off in the distance is the Los Banos reservoir, one of the premiere sites in Northern California for RC slope flying. When I was living in the SF Bay Area i went down there many times to fly. No matter which the wind was blowing there was good lift.
And here we are on final to San Jose.

Thanks guys!

Big Bear is a nice little airport with challenging approaches. the Community help forum has a thread for FSX and FSX steam as well as P3D Xplane MSFS and Aerofly.
