  1. Hi

Just a quick update, hope this info may help others. I’ve turned AI Traffic Off and removed all Freeware scenery from my Community folder. This has fixed all my CTD. I have Orbx Paris and London Citypacks installed plus EGLC airport. If I fly from EGLC London works fine, if I do a Discovery flight option in Paris it works fine if I select a London Discovery flight CTD every time. Don’t know why but can live with it.

I didn't have the extra 24.22GB but I had to reinstall the first 3 World Updates (and that actually seemed to help stop CTD's) but I think certain Orbx and partner product's may need updates, for example, I'm missing the statics at DD's KDCA

When I started MSFS after the 45GB update I had a blue circle notifying me of one notification ref Content Manager and when I checked it said I needed to do 39 updates within it AI selected all and the 24.22GB is progressing. Started at 1630 yesterday still not had a go on sim yet

You guys are lucky as mine had to be moved to a bigger hard drive. Think maybe I’m looking at 22-00 hours tonight if I’m lucky. At the moment it’s at 20%. So slowly getting there. Thanks Derek.

At least you have a nice clean install

    I didn't have that exactly,

I had the 600mb starter and then a 45GB update because it had to reinstall all the default aircraft/deluxe airports etc.

Hi yes mine said 45GB in total but seemed to do it in two half’s. But now the content manager is doing its 24.22GB update on top is this the same for you???

  5. Just confirming regarding the PC Version I have the Premium Deluxe version. I did market place update about 600MB then started game and it did the Standard Content update of about 22GB (left overnight) then it asked me to do another update of about 18GB (can’t remember amount) now game is at start page and Content Manager needs to about 39 updates which is about another 24GB

Is this what everyone else is seeing??

At this rate I won’t be in it until tomorrow

I hope they allow some peripherals to work with Xbox for MSFS - it's not going to be ideal with an Xbox controller.

If your Microsoft account does have an MSFS licence tied to it (no idea if that's what will happen for DVD versions) then you would need to have the console set as your 'home' Xbox in order for your son's account to have access to it. You can delete your account from the Xbox after doing that. The pre-download of MSFS (just a small file) has been available for a while now, for anyone who has access to it via Game Pass or through the PC version, so you could probably check.

Thanks for the info. He actually uses my account on his Xbox so I’m hoping it should work. I have also noticed the small MSFS file show in my Xbox app on my phone so I’m thinking all may be good here.

Yes I have the Airbus Thrust Master joystick so would love it to work also.

But I still won’t be happy because I will then want all my Orbx add-on’s to work on the Xbox as well from day 1.

We Flight Simmers are a tough crowd to please aren’t we?

Son to Dad (Paul) , when are you ever going to be done flying in MSFS on “MY” Xbox ......:(:D

:D The Xbox X and 32” 4K TV have arrived and are all setup. I am so jealous of my sons setup. I don’t have a 4K monitor or a 4K TV in the house so this has blown my mind. The quality and realism of some of the games and watching 4K videos of flights over London in YouTube. I really hope MSFS is going to be great on XBox X and many Orbx add ons will work. If MSFS Licence does not transfer I think it’s worth buying as a stand alone for the XBox X due the quality. If anyone is interested the whole setup cost me £850 which is a bargain compared to a new PC. Hurry up 27th July.

It is absolutely impossible for the PC DVD version to work on any console. The PC/Windows code is not even remotely compatible with an Xbox architecture. Since Aerosoft is the exclusive worldwide distributor of the rare DVD version of MSFS, you need to ask them about whether or not you can get some code to get a "free" crossgrade to Xbox. The answer will be "no" for what it's worth. Same answer as those who bought the Steam version of MSFS.

"not least the reason for having a $500 console against a $4000 PC."

I can't even begin to imagine what kind of PC you could get for $4k, but it would leave any console in the dust. I bought an $800 Alienware last summer in anticipation of MSFS and it had an RTX 2060 that has proven more than adequate. Yes, that is $300 more than the Xbox. But I can do far more with a PC than I ever could with a mere console. Indeed, I use this PC all day every day. So I would say most people who are of an age to want to consider serious simming would be better off with a more expensive PC than an otherwise useless to them game console that will have far less support for addons (and I don't mean scenery since that is easy to make work on both platforms) and utilities.

    Hi

I am confused why you’ve tagged my post and a reply about DVD Discs not working on an Xbox.

I am aware they won’t work, the point I was making (apologies if badly) was that as a registered user in the MS Marketstore I hope Microsoft will recognise and allow a cross transfer for free an Xbox version of MSFS.
