  1. Guys, thanks a million for your best wishes, sometimes when things like this happen, I'm not too sure where to turn, my family having their own problems, I just don't want to give them any more stress than they already have. It's great to have you guys to lend an ear. As an update, my sister came out of ICU late today, and is holding her own - slight improvement. At 90 years it's a very slow process, but any improvement is a win. Again, thank you all. Don
  2. As a lot of you guys/gals might remember, My wife recently had a serious illness, but thank fully has fully recovered, to the extent that she can - 90%. Not long after whilst in the waiting room waiting for her, she was with the doctor getting her check up, my phone rang - my D-I-L telling me my son had been rushed to hospital for urgent surgery. That night, I got a call from another hospital telling me my sister, she's 90 had been admitted with a serious heart problem. My stress period returned full on. On top of this, my wife had to have minor surgery on her nose - sun spot, but something she didn't need after what she just went through, but she's okay, and my son came through and is now back on his feet. My sister has had to have a pacemaker fitted, which all looked good, until another emergency and she was rushed back to hospital, some complication with the original surgery, which caused fluid build up around her heart which has stopped it beating correctly. They have drains in to remove it and we all have our fingers crossed. I apologise for venting like this, but right now it's got a bit much, and this has helped me. Oh, on top of all this, my rudders pedals broke Don
  3. They have quality stuff Louis, and as John said, "old birds". I have their Avro Lancaster, Hawker Typhoon, and Grumman F3F-2 all great aircraft and well detailed. Don

  7. Sounds great to me Patrick, I always had a love for the land. Closest I got was ten acres out side of Brisbane Wivenhoe way. Three horses and two dogs. We had four young boys then, who loved the freedom to wander and play Huckleberry Flynn. We had a dairy farm adjoining with a heap of cows and a few sheep, so they got to experience a bit of the good country life. Wonderful memories. The worst part was it had to end, as the boys grew up they needed the metro area to further their education and find jobs. I still browse through our photo collection every so often and relive that part of our past. Don
  8. Me either Adam. A a kid we could go shopping and leave the house unlocked and never worry about getting robbed. Nobody got mugged, and if someone was murdered, it was OMG what is the world coming to. Guess we found out! Don

  10. Hopefully all will be good Macca, you know the saying only the good die young, and don't know about you, but I'm young until I hit 90, got a few years to go Besides I'm not classified as "good", so I'll probably make 100, but in the world as it, I'm not sure I want to last that long. Don

  15. Well guess I have to own up to it too - I turned 80 on the 8th of this month. My Happy Birthday present was my HD crashed - bah! I really don't give a rats about the crash, it will be fixed, my big complaint is I cant fly until it is. I read these posts and think how lucky I am to be in such great company. Don
