Good that we have this question again here. Not so good I don’t know the answer…

It is within terminal 1 so neither landside nor airside. It is not in the transit area though, if you are referring to this, but I don't think this was a requirement.
I am currently flying to Munich, but with only 50 minutes changeover time I will not take the risk to leave the security area. I must get my hydration elsewhere…

The Kiwi lounges know how to guilt you! Endulgeant dessert but a healthy salad right next door to remind you of healthy eating!
Oh, there is a salad? Did not realize…

As always, I am a bit late to the party.😉
I recommend the "Airbräu" at Munich airport (EDDM). A typical Bavarian craft brewery, located at the edge of terminal 1, right at the plaza between terminals 1 snd 2. It even features an al fresco "Biergarten", that's a typical Bavarian eating and beer drinking area (hint, hint @flyingleaf 😜) on the plaza.
Good meals and drinks, friendly service, nice atmosphere.
Indeed a nice place, but landside, as far as I remember?

I usually fly for about two good glasses of red wine
with some cheese
or a maximum of three to four small bottles of beer
with a handful of chips or nuts.
Cheers

That is a good way of time measurement. But I fear some of us would not get very far in these intervals…

For vfr flying I join most of you with a time between 45 and 90 minutes. For ifr I am more tolerant: after 1 h of preparation (including flight planning) I accept up to 13 h flying… with 4fold sim speed and the „pause at TOD“ option, of course.

I can't really say any. Every airport has Maccas.
And after SHOUTING Gerold dinner on Wednesday night' I
probably will never have the chance to recommend in the Future.
Was a good night though Gerold.👍
cheers

For me the most important inspirations I got from
- Bowerman / Hoquiam
- Cairns
- AYPY Port Moresby / PNG
These airports invited me to explore whole regions. And afterwards I even travelled in real to two of them.

nice shots/pics, had to double take on Wanaka though....is the bridge just a footbridge? if it's for cars is it oneway or what? wouldn't want road rage halfway over...
Thanks for watching and your question. The brisge is part of the state highway 6, means the most important road on the west coast. The Haast pass (further up the hills just before the Blue Pools) is the southernmost pass in the NZ Southern Alps.
There are 2 (or 3?) escape pods on the bridge, where you can cooperate with any head traffic and let them / yourself pass. "Co-ordinate" is a word that would not work in German traffic... and that shows how relaxed life is at that part of the world.

In my last post we went north from the fjordland of NZ´s south island:
Today we continue our trip, passing Haast...
... and the Haast River bridge, which presented 2 surprises for us (not shown here): It is a single lane bridge for about a kilometer. And there were myriads of pesky Sandflies waiting for the crazy guy who took a photo.
Following the Haast Pass road we encounter the Blue Pools, ...
... Lake Hawea...
... and Lake Wanaka.
And by plane it is a relatively short hop from there over the Southern Alps...
... to NZMC Mount Cook. Time for another hike...

Great shots, Scott.
A hybrid with the graphics of MSFS and the open, well expanded system of p3d (with some of its planes), that would be it, indeed.
