Still looking but I'm stumped.  S45 is the only msfs scenery on the coast in the Orbx Direct catalog that I can find, esp since the clue mentions a good looking coastline.  It's not Bowerman is it?

It could not have been Bowerman - I have been there last autumn and could not recognize.

At least, again, Wolfgang has got it!

Who makes the next riddle (if there is one left)?

So we can expect some interesting routes presenting the entire flight plan and all waypoints Gerold! 🙂

You will have scenery all around the world but of course the updated areas are best. And this creates a lot of gb, my sim is growing since 2 years.

You know me, I always try to prefly my real trips, or to repeat them. Or just go where I will never go...

Over 2TB free on the sum of my SSDs currently, so I can grab something... But I´ll take care on good organisation!

I'm sure you will have loads of fun with your new sim.

I already have, Iain, and I have just scratched the surface of using it!

    congrats, great flights ahead

Thanks Ken. And also: Thanks for your scenery, it will find its way on my SSDs...

Go on, at least with the Wilderness state. I´ll probably be there next March to make comparison shots.

Stunning images, Gerold! I see you have a splendid new computer and wish you all the best with the new sim!

Thank you Lars, for the compliments on the first shot. And on the rig selection. BTW, I have reinstalled P3D for IFR flying on a separate SSD - as long as we do not have proper widebodies for the new kid. Love the 777!

Fantastic Gerold !! Many happy flights nextly this great msfs - everywhere in the world like in Orbx True Earth ....and many many great addons on Flightsim.to  😀

Merci Jean Marc! I have got so much to learn - and to discover. Feel like a total Newbie!

Woohooo, you’ve done it! And a nice system to go with it. Enjoy the new learnings Gerold.

    Cheers

    Graeme :)

Thanks Graeme. That is not a learning curve, it is a mountain...

After 2 years of nearly no purchase for flight sim (there was nearly nothing for P3D) I had built up the budget for my new machine.

I thought it was, it's ok to look out the window.

    cheers

An interesting view out of this window. But confusing, at least with many functions.

    Hi Gerold,

It's  a bit like riding a bike.  The basic skills are fine on your side,  just practice a bit working out where all the controls are.

    Enjoy!

    Cheers

    Pete

Oh yes Pete, finding out where (and how!) MS has hidden all these controls is the first task.

oh Gerold, what have you done?...best of luck learning the new sim, and by the way to wonderful shots...

Let´s see if it can be more to my humble brain than just being optically impressive.

Dealing with the controls is the first thing.

Next I got to get back to what I am used to: ground services (surely GSX), air traffic (open), sea traffic (are Henriks ships ported?). ATC will probably become PRO-ATC/X again. And then we are at REAL airplanes up to jetliners...

It is the plane which is in the foreground on my shots but it is the second which interests me enormously. The Simmers dreamed of MSFS 2020 but I dream of much more! I dream of the whole earth with TrueEarth. It's a little "pearl" . Do you know that this series of products is of incredible quality and far above what currently exists! @Anna Cicognani  Do you need a perfume, a piece of cheese , a good bottle or a postcard from the Eiffel Tower ?  what can i do other than use my french education to get you to continue the story?

    These look really great, Filou.

Wonderful shots. Before they do TrueEarth for the whole Earth, maybe they manage OpenLC for the whole Earth:D

    That sounds really great, Lars.

Last March I bought a new Jetline computer for $3500.  That moved to client status (but still yet to be set up) A $2000 Jetline five years earlier.  Therefore I don't have Rodger's problem (yet).  I have four large HDs for files, and quite a bit of operational memory.  I need it.  I have 12 Saitek FIPs, real performance hogs.  I paid for 9 of them at $150 each.  Three were sent in error, but before I could arrange to return them Saitek went out of business.  More recently I bought a Diagma GNS530 ($300), three Propwash units (Dual Radios, Transponder, Autopilot, $130 each).  Desktop Aviator Fuel Selector, Cessna Switch Panel, Flaps Controller $75-100 each).  Go flight and Saitek annunciator panels ($100 & &150).  Most recently a Javiator Audio Panel ($195).  Not to say anything about two yokes (CH) and rudder pedals (CH & Saitek).

That sounds like fantastic equipment Ken. You may need to add a photo here...

But alas, my days of buying Orbx are over unless there is a change of heart and we see some P3D 4 & 5 scenery.

Same for me here, currently. We´ll see if there is some interesting stuff made by them for MSFS.

How much have you invested in flight simulation over the years?

I can easily add it up, as I do have a list of all the software I´ve bought since 2012. I do know how much I spent for this current computer in 2012, and for its upgrade in 2017 (this was about 600 EUR without looking in the files). And now he has come to the end of his usage period - 10.5 years is not so bad. Which means I could also tell you what the new machine will cost, and it is for sure more than your indicated "upgrade", Rodger.

Which means: If you can prolong the lifetime of your rig by investing in RAM, SSD and a GPU, it might be a good move. Knowing that GPUs can cost a fortune nowadays.

Why don´t you let us know what you have and want to replace?

  8. Oh, and I love it how banks, the German railway or some mileage programs hide themselves behind multiple computers to log in.

For using the German rail I need 2 accounts (general and abo functions) and at least 2 of their 5-or-so apps.

The extreme for me was a swiss bank (last week), that required a computer, a smartphone and some archived paper from 2015 to grant access to MY money.
